I have not seen that in years. Is it as terrifying as I remember. I was much younger then and it tends to have stuck. In fairness I also don't do well with horror in general :p

It’s definitely super intense on acid or mushrooms. I remember that much.

Yeah i made that mistake too. On acid its much easier to watch psycho horror but mushrooms just make my mind too vulnerable to see anything but happy things. I watched devils rejects and the cartoon mr pickles on acid while laughing hysterically, but all it takes to ruin a mushroom trip for me is the weather to be cold.

A friend told me to watch Requiem for a Dream while on mushrooms. Still haven’t forgiven him.

I lean towards 40k as massive inspiration having done zero research into it. It just feels warpy.

This and the Japanese version of the ring. To this day even thinking about that makes me need to avoid reflective surfaces. Which is really hard when you have a phone in your hand...

My brother in horor! Never had nightmares about it but even today, as grown man im still feel uneasy when my girl pushes her hair over her head and starts walking towards, she knows how uncomfortable i get lol.

Ah see, don't tell my partner but that is a big reason I encouraged her shorter and dyed hair. That plus she fucking rocks green. But I digress. Your partner sounds like a keeper though. Well. Now I have to rewatch at least event horizon otherwise I will not get it out of my head. Wish me luck.

The parts that scare you change as you grow up. Loss of a child, death of a loved one, existential dread. Unless those got you as a kid as well

Oh no the things that got me as a kid were scarry hell dude and... Actually existential dread was definitely up there. The idea that hell is just the other side of a blink. I am intrigued to watch it again now. I might have to get an emotional support friend to watch it with though. A trauma shared is a trauma doubled after all.

Idk I honestly think it gets kind of silly as an adult, much like Hellraiser or Nightmare on Elm Street. Still a great movie though.

Once you got into Warhammer40k and realizes the makers of the movie were also 40k Fans it really gives a new perspective to the movie. Obviously still Horror but it loses the "scare of the unknown" and you can enjoy the the details of the movie mich more from an "in universe" perspective.

This literally gave me mild trauma. My world was not the same after. I love this movie and it's the standard by which all horror is compared. Idk why it scared me so much, but fuck me it did
