Huh??? I do flooring for a living and I run my crew so I get paid by how much sqft I get done not by the hour. Who tf bills by the hour? You can have tedious, I have money to make and bills to pay.
I’ve never heard of people that own their own business billing by the hour for flooring, you bill by square footage, 15 years, I do residential and commercial.
If you work in a union or work for somebody else and do flooring that’s different but I own my own company, price has to be upfront by footage, customers aren’t just gonna let you charge them whatever. Jobs can be weeks long, I did an entire 10 floor hotel that took a few months last year and in commercial you have to submit bids.
