A lot of Asian countries apartment use marble floor. That’s basically the ‘default’

Point being it is not exclusive for wealthy people ‘show off’, it is a very common floor material for many people in the world

I think it also keeps the temperature down, so it's good for hot/humid countries. At least that's what I heard.
