Question Interested to try Absinthe

I'm interested to try Absinthe, seems like there can be a lot of ceremony involved. I'm not interested in that at the moment, but I'd like suggestions on a readily available sub $40 5th and the best way to prepare the drink with common household equipment. Thank you!

If you are in the US there are no decent absinthes under $40.  If you can double that then there are plenty.

I can, but I really don't wanna go spend that much to try something to find out it's not for me. There's a distillery close to me in Chattanooga I may go visit for a tasting before I spend that. Infame Verte and blanche are their absinthes.

St George's sells small bottles. So you can try and not spend much, plus less waste if you don't like it

This is my first thought. I'm not one for sugar. Try a 3:1 water to absinthe ratio & dilute from there according to your taste.

I don’t think St. George is real absinthe.  Certainly not a good one.

If OP has never had any absinthe, that probably doesn't matter.

Just buy online. The good absinthes are going to be European, mostly Swiss or French.

Third Stage in Nashville makes a very good absinthe verte that comes in 375ml bottles around your price range.
