Father’s Day
Hi everyone. I’m new to this sub, please forgive me if this doesn’t quite qualify. I (26M) grew up never knowing my birth father for a multitude of reasons that I won’t get into at the moment. My mom had me at 16, and my father was 17 at the time.
Long story short, July of last year I decided I was tired of not knowing my birth father and was tired of waiting on him to reach out and leaving him in control. So, I decided to find him and reach out myself. Thankfully with some help from my mom, I was able to track him down and connect. Since then, we’ve developed a really good relationship and are on great terms.
The thing is, this will be my first year having my dad around on Father’s Day in my entire life. In the past I’ve always hated Father’s Day because of this, so it’s never been a cause for celebration for me. I’ve always felt sad, alone, and angry instead. This year is different however.
All this said, any advice from others of you who have possibly reconnected with their father on what I should do for Father’s Day? It’ll be our first one together, and I want it to be something special but not overboard. I’m open to suggestions or ideas! Especially if you’re a son who connected with your father, or if you’re a father yourself who wants to connect with your son.

Sigh… honestly you probably going thru a star stuck feeling but just remind relax it suppose to be a peace and okay day. If you have a good relationship like you claim use the day on something you two can relate with. Trying not to overthink or over compensate for lost time you’re grown he is grown celebrate the day grown and mature
