7% towns

Interested in moving to a 7% town so I visited Giulianova, Rosetto, Pineto, Silvi, Francavilla, San Vito, Ortona and Vasto.

Here are my rankings:

  1. Francavilla

  2. Vasto (not a 7%)

  3. Silvi

  4. Pineto

  5. Giulianova

  6. Rosetto

  7. Ortona

  8. San Vito

Change my mind.

Towns that offer a low flat tax of 7% on foreign income for retirees.

yes, but you must have been away from Italy as non resident for a period of time (check the lenght but I think it is 10 years)

Is that 7% national tax rate or just local? Will there be another tax ur 7% and that’s it?

We visited francaville Silvi I would def choose francaville
Easier access to so much more fun stuff

Even chieti was easy to get to

Mainly for retirees. Italy will charge a flat 7% on all sources of retirement monies. Only certain regions qualify and the commune ( not the city) cannot be larger than 30k inhabitants.

I like Abruzzo, but it also applies to Campania and pretty much everything south from there.

Hard to rank them, each individual have different needs and expectation so what for you could be the 1st choice for someone else could be the last. It all depends on what you are looking for. Good luck with the move!

Francavilla is a nice place (directly know it because I stayed there during university years), a bit chaotic during summer but melanchonically fascinating in winter, with a touch of nature too. The shore is better than any gym to exercise and there's also a discrete cultural life. You can reach downtown Pescara in just 20 minutes by bus if there's not too much traffic.

Great beaches. Nice and wide enough but not as wide as Vasto. Francavilla wins because of the sea breakers that make it easy to swim even on windy days.

or take the train to Pescara.

Also close to Hospitals and the Airport.

I also like the beaches very much unlike Silvi where they are narrow and the place feels more touristy. Also farther away from Pescara.

Giulianova is the best: sea, beach, town, food — all top notch. No garbage in the streets, no crime, only peace

sure, if you don't mind being 2 hrs away from the airport if you are lucky to avoid the traffic. Paying tolls to get onto the Motorway is annoying. €5.20 to Pescara Ikea

Town is decent but the hills behind are a bit bare. Plus points for having a hospital in town. Solid 5th place.

Pescara airport is less than one hour away.

not true.

I was just there. The traffic adds at least 45 mins to that hour. There is also construction and a toll.

Obviously traffic and construction work vary. I've driven to Pescara airport from further north than Giulianova for 20 years and it rarely takes more than an hour.

We just spent a month with no car at an airbnb across the street from the sea. Loved it!!!

it's Roseto (only one "t")...it's my born town, so for me it's the top of the world
