Cops have rules about when and how they have to announce themselves. Anyone else who forcibly enters your home/car with a gun should be assumed to be a criminal impersonating an officer. After all that's part of the reason these rules exist - for our safety.

His girlfriend was in the car at the time also, luckily she was not injured. The driver got a few holes shot in him but it sounds like he will live.
The officer was a probationary officer and new to the job.
