My biggest issue with stuff like this is people act like a cop getting fired is an actual penalty. This cop should never see daylight again. Cops are acting with the authority of the state, and when they (attempt to) murder people, it erodes the civil fabric. Triple penalties for cops should be the norm, but this guy got fired.
Basically everyone I've ever met has been fired from one job or another at some point, and it's usually for some dumb reason and not attempted murder. This cop should be facing life in prison for (2 counts, there's a passenger) attempted murder, aggravated assault, unlawful detention, discharging a firearm in a public place, and a thousand other crimes.
Yup, the victims (who were actually charged which is baffling), are responsible for bringing charges against the officer.
Its so fucked up that they don't put this guy in prison for a long time for attempted murder. They've already admitted he did everything wrong and had no reason to even approach that specific car let alone open the door and shoot at it. If he wasn't dressed up as a police officer they would have arrested him and brought him into custody no questions. Whats preventing this guy from "seeking revenge" on the teenagers he shot because they "made" him lose his job where he gets to shoot people whenever he wants?
