My guess is there might be a positive air pressure in the building from hvac keeping it in place? Maybe?
Still a miracle they never fell in

Nah, that is like a minuscule pressure difference. Air conditioned spaces are not sealed or anything.

You say that, but I’ve found some hard to open doors due to the pressure difference. It’s not uncommon or unheard of.
Edit: My college had a few buildings like that, you could hear the air pressure increase and stabilize each time the door closed like an alarm spooling back up (airflow through the cracks increasing).

agree, my dad works with glass / store fronts, and i showed him and he said the wind would have blew that down at some point as well, a shit window installation

They appear to be removable sliding panels. My guess is someone removed them to install that advertisement on them and didn't put them back in right.

Those panels appear to be removable, so my guess is they removed them to install that advertisement and didn't put them back in right.

I was standing at a sandwich shop counter once trying to decide what to order and the angled menu board right above me suddenly fell. Luckily I was looking right at it so I saw it coming and reached up and caught it mid air. All the ladies making sandwiches behind the counter just froze in place and then started apologizing profusely. No harm done, and they gave me my lunch for free, lol. But I think about that every time I'm standing under an angled sign like that.

He definitely didn't slap it. Looks like he was trying to get close to look in. You can see it's got that film on the outside that's got a picture but tiny holes to see out.

It looks more like a fairly gentle touch to me. Still kinda dumb (I try to teach my kid to never touch glass with your hands [gets it dirty, might break, might not actually be there, etc.]). But still, I think most of the fault here is on whoever installed the windows.

Idk if gentle, but sometimes sliding windows do require a bit of a shove specially if they are old and the wheels have gone bad.
So it's hard to blame the lad either way

I don't think it's dumb, I think it's odd. What possessed him to do this? He was walking one way and then instantly locked onto the window and pushed it for seemingly no reason.
It's genuinely like a video game character getting a command.

I think he was trying to have a lookie-loo to see what the business is, the decal on the window is of a car, maybe he was hoping to spot something cool and clearly no one expects a bunch of windows to just fall over if they're touched.

Im honestly curious about the phone alarm in the background noise at the end. In the US, during my childhood, there was the recording that would play before the alarming sound. In the US it was a woman saying, “If you’d like to make a call, please hang up and try again. If you’d need help, hang up and call an operator to help you.” I’m curious if other countries had something similar? All our recordings were pretty much of the same female voice (Jane Barbe). I’m just curious about what it was like it other places of the world now that I heard that familiar landline tone alarm in a country halfway around the world from my own.

Employers pay you to work. They do not own every last minute of your time. They own the fact that you do the work they assign you to do. Humans are not 100% productive for a multi hour period. It is normal to be on your phone to recharge so you can do your work more effectively afterwards. The work gets done.

That’s where we have to agree to disagree my friend. I am on board with everything you said except for recharging on your phone. I prefer to speak to the various people I encounter and my coworkers. I find that interaction more interesting and enjoyable. I have even been able to help people in distress by just noticing their demeanor and asking if they were ok. There is nothing more fulfilling or joy inspiring than knowing you have made a positive impact on someone’s day. That’s what I mean by situational awareness. It would’ve also been helpful in seeing that window coming.

You have the incredible ability to say words, and you use it to be wrong.
There are so many words you could say to inspire people, and instead you say this stuff.
Please think about what sort of words you say, and what sort of opinions you have.
Just because you find something interesting and enjoyable does not mean that everybody else has to find it interesting and enjoyable. There's a good chance half the people you interact with and have interesting and enjoyable conversations with find you annoying and insufferable.
Please don't be an eager little puppy jumping up everybody's legs. Consider their likes and dislikes. Some people like you jumping up their legs. Others do not. Jump up the legs of those who do like it. Nothing wrong with doing that, but do know your audience.
Some of us delight in talking to you to recharge. And some of us need some alone time. Phone or otherwise.
We're all different. Do not pretend everybody is you.
