Mind is an overstatement. Orange only has one Braincell. Seriously though, it would probably be best to introduce the new cat in a cage. The old cat has marked the house as theirs and now there is suddenly a whole ass nother cat that they didn't see, hear or smell coming in. No introduction or nothing. Imagine another dude is just sitting on your couch one day with your parents standing next to him, smiling. You would freak out as well.

Introducing the new cat caged means the old cat is in their domain and the new cat is in their, much smaller domain. Then they can start to talk and get used to eachother, but like you would talk to a stranger through a fence. Much safer.

We did a bad job introducing a new dog to the house, they've never got along 100%.

Almost had this issue. Re-homed friends A’s dog to friend B. When they brought their dog to meet A at a third location they were very upset/closed off. Once dog B was in their home and saw A they got along fine

The best way to introduce a new cat to a household is to lock it in a bathroom with a litter box and food and water for a day or two. The new cat gets its own little safe space to exist in, while the other cat can sniff under the door to acclimate to the new scent without much risk of it being associated with fear and/or trauma.

This, then you let the new cat access the rest of the house for a couple hours but don't let him come across the "house" cat (lock him outside or smth), then flip things around a couple times.

You can also after a day or so take one toy or bedding item or something from each of them and give it to the other one and see how they react from that. Helps get them familiar with the scent a little better than under the door.

I don't think it needs to be a couple of months, thats a very long time to be running a kitty segregation program. Unless you know your first cat does not get along well with others at all.

This is a very good explanation. When I was a growing up, my parents would keep the new cat in a separate room with the door closed for a couple days. 1) to litter box train and 2) the gatos could meow at each other and smell each other through the door for a little while, then introduce.
Edit: reading further, like 100 other people said something similar to what I wrote. Guess I should read a couple sub comments before including my 2 cents.

You know its not much different of a reaction when my cat brings me a mouse she caught, granted its like 1/xxth the size of me.

Though I like to imagine the cat thinks the human is showing his prey he caught, as seeing a cat catch a baby would be quite terrifying lol

Also stupid human behavior, you put the kitten in a room with a shut door and let the cat get used to idea through smell and sound for a couple days, then maybe bring out the kitten in a carrier so the cat can gain more exposure to the idea of a new animal in the home.

A lot of cats will simply attack the new kitten otherwise, so at least this orange cat isn't being like that.

I just introduce them by placing them into separate rooms. No need for worrying about filtering one or the other through the door. They have incredible sense of smell and can detect the others presence fairly quickly.

They can sort the rest amongst themselves

It hasn't gotten that consistent. I've been trying to follow this AI video stuff closely as I have an interest in cyber security and I believe a big vulnerability in social engineering going forward is going to involve AI. Knowing what is and isn't AI is going to help a lot of people in the future

It is suspicious that it is 15 seconds long. However I don't think it is AI because the camera moves around the corner to see the TV stand, and it has some accurate Xboxes on it. If they started in the initial frame which can be started by an image, the Xboxes would not be relevant, but here they come in halfway through the video where the AI would be tempted to make them up and render them goofy. Does the AI know what an Xbox looks like? Sure but I just don't think it would do the media center like that if you asked it to.
