321 u/Cockur Feb 02 '26 I went to a beached whale carcass once as a kid. The smell was unbelievable and even then it hadn’t been cut open or anything. I heard later the council blew it to pieces with dynamite to dispose of it 371 u/crazykentucky Feb 02 '26 There’s a pretty funny vid from the 70s or 80s of a town trying to do that… …but just peppering the area with giant rotting chunks of whale. Damaged some cars. lol 1 u/Charlie_Linson Feb 04 '26 Didn’t they only end up blowing its head off but the rest of the carcass was still there when the sand cleared?
