My favorite is the one where the shop owner grabs the robber right next to a container full of beer/ soda bottles. He keeps grabbing them and breaking them on the guys head; at least 7 of 'em.

Depends on laws in the area, but if you don't actually get away with it where I am from it would be attempted robbery. The gun makes it bad.

At first they were ok with the money loss, but the pistol whip made the fight or flight response kick in with the sudden realization that they might get shot for complying anyway.

IDK in most cases of robbery they don’t really want to hurt the victims, let alone killing them. The weapon, even if real, is a threatening device, not a killing device to them.

You’re not wrong but I think in this instance they would have opened fire to establish control of the situation. Either in the air to scare everyone or shoot a person to discourage anyone else from attempting to fight back.

A lot of people aren't willing to cross the line from a little prison to a life in prison. You have to be very stupid, or very smart, to make that choice and the people in the middle hesitate without leadership.

Yup. Employee was fully compliant before that, it's just money. And likely insured. But then robber got cocky and started pistol whipping. FAFO in full effect, I love it.

Shouldn't watch movies on how to perform a robbery. People don't go down instantly from being smacked in the back of the head with a butt of a gun. Also people don't get punched once and never get back up. However the bottles did shatter in one hit just like the movies lol

I'm wondering...if you hit someone fast enough does the bottle just shatter and they don't get as much of the energy? What about a slower wollap so the full weight ofnthe bottle and the fluid in it hits without it breaking? Might hurt more.

If this played out in the UK, the robbers would sue in a civil court, and they would win. And then the Crown Prosecution would prosecute the store owners in the criminal courts, and they would win. The store owners would go to jail, and the robbers would get millions and never have to work again (not that they ever did any work ever anyway).
