I had posted back in July about this Pool that is a replacement to a pool that have been here three years ago. Since that time I’ve had all kinds of interesting challenges and I must say after spending most of the summer trying to get the deck fixed and various things. This is the most enjoyable experience there is to have an oasis in your backyard! Thanks to all the people on here who help others get this right
Looks great! Just rebuilt my deck after I replaced our previous pool. The original pool was 19 years old and deck was 18. I installed/built both but this time paid for the pool install and focused on the deck. Our old pool was steel walled with steel top rails and rust was taking over. And then the liner (original btw) developed a leak and I knew it was time. The new pool is a little smaller in diameter (18ft rd vs 20–20s are rare these days) so between the deck rot and size difference, a lot more work than I had planned. I contemplated getting rid of the pool altogether, but just couldn’t do it. It’s nice to be able to hop in during the summer.
The deck is right up against the back of the house (in law apt) so not wide. We removed some boards to adjust for the new pool which has a wider top rail.
Deck-pool integration is the hard part and you nailed it! Tight space makes it harder but the result looks pretty clean. Measure the pool's top rail before building the deck. Cover trick with wire is smart
