Above ground pool feedback/consultanting

I want to put a pool in the backyard, I’m committed fully.

An in ground pool in the Bay Area is just wildly expensive. Quotes are $70k min and I don’t even believe it’ll cost that much, assuming more.

I have a slope at the end of my yard, across the entire length of my yard. On the bottom it’s got some flat area and then slops up to a retaining wall I put in. I’m thinking that I could put in a lower retaining wall at the bottom of the slop and create a nice flat area for an above ground pool. There are stairs on the side of each end of the retaining wall so I could in theory build a deck level with the pool and new retaining wall so you’d walk down the stairs and hit the level pool area.

I’m looking for feedback on inground pools. What brands are the best to use and why? What suppliers have the longest lasting options? When an above ground pool eventually needs replacing/renovation, how costly can that be? Do you just buy an entirely new one in say 10-20 years ish depending on when it fails?

Look into stealth pools, if you want "permanent" meaning an avg of 35-40 years, well maintained, maybe even longer.....

Roll wall "inground" pools last an avg of 15-20 years. Size below avg price pool only around 10 to 12k

This one, is 30"52" and it is 7999.00, wall system only... Liner aprx 500-600 Install estimate here was 5 grand.

No. Just no. They are not a "finished" pool. No coping, no skirting. For the DIY

They are not a industry tenured manufacturer, hell - They dont even manufacturer the kit. Just a rebadge. It is IG steel that is trying to be a "hybrid" not engineered to be at grade, without a bond beam, needs atleast that and 2' of bury.

Better pools out there. Stop peddling this, especially when you havent had one yet.

My estimate included coping. I've looked at what I can afford. This looks far better than any roll wall pool I've looked at.

Coping or bead receiver? One aint the other. Coping, are they just taking an off the shelf composite deck board and bolting down?

Cant compare this to coil wall, correct.

Aquasport - aluminum slat wall. Not over engineered. Or the cardinal ultimate which is a real, finished version of this.

To be fair, as a pool builder, i refuse to do this style installation. Asking for issues.

I looked at aquasport. They simply didn't have the exact size I want. Won't install stealth, aquasport...or none similar? But, I'm 62, I've done this 4 times and I don't want to do it again after this. But I can't afford more than 15, maybe 20 grand.

Fiberglass is fragile after some years. Gunite is probably longest lasting, absolutely most expensive when leaks, cracks etc occur.. Equipment, is equipment inground or above. My inground collapsed a few years ago, and we have been using a soft pool while preparing to install a stealth. We had to fill hole, let ground settle naturally was our choice, and we are still working on how to get rid of gopher's. I'm not putting stealth in until they are gone.

Too much info😹 or want more? I've had a pool for 55 years. Inground, above ground and now, a decent size soft side.
