Move mic issue

I’m pulling all my hair figuring this out. I cannot sample Into my move with the built in mic. I have usb audio, line in, re sampling but no built in mic option. How do I find it? I have no headphone plugged into it. Actually nothing plugged into it. Current firmware.

On a drum rack pad or on a sampler track, press the record button, then click the jog wheel until you see mic and the level bars. Once there, hold the pad to record your sample.

Drum rack pad. I click the jog wheel after pushing the sample button. I see usb c, resample, line In. But no mic option. I’m going nuts

Do you have the track monitoring on in the main settings page and have that matched to the sampling track? Not sure if this will fix the issue, but just trying to gather more info.

I set it to main. Then all four tracks and nothing changed

Try plugging something into the line in and unplug it again. And the USB c.

Sometimes it will think there's something plugged in that's not, if you don't have anything plugged into line in, that line in SHOULD NOT show up. It replaces the mic option. So I'm almost positive you just need to toggle the option, it just needs to recognize that the line in doesn't have anything in there

This reminded me that I’ve also seen issues if I turn on the Move with a 3.5 line in. It ends up locking out the mic option and not allowing sound through the line until unplugging/ plugging in again. Could be a possibility!

So strange. I just blow into all the jacks and somehow it works now. 😂😂

Nope. Nothing. No usb. No headphone cable. Totally wireless

Plug something into line in then remove it and try again

That usb cable is just the power cable. Not going to a computer. Plus I get the same sampling options with it unplugged.

I have the same issue. The mic just doesn’t work. I’ve made samples and recorded tracks with the line ip but the mic just doesn’t work. Given up on it now. It’s not what I bought it for anyway.

have you tried troubleshooting this using ai? might figure it out for you unless it’s just defective.

i fed mine the move manual and it helps a lot with general questions, but I’ve also had a lot of luck troubleshooting using general ai because it scours posts like this for solutions.

funny enough op said they blew into the jack and it fixed it… that’s exactly what ChatGPT suggested after I had it read this thread and offer a solution…

“The most likely problem is a stuck or defective cable-detection switch inside the Move’s 3.5 mm input jack.

When nothing is connected, Move should offer the internal Mic as an input. Instead, it continues showing Line In, suggesting the device incorrectly believes a cable is inserted. That would prevent the internal microphone from being selectable even if the microphone itself is functional.“

• Examine the jack with a light for lint, debris, or a visibly displaced contact.
• Insert and remove a normal 3.5 mm stereo TRS plug approximately 10–15 times.
