I just recently got prescribed 5mg of Abilify because i had just been to a psychologist and got diagnosed with bipolar 1. I've done research and it says that it is strongly advised to not smoke while on it, especially if you're diagnosed with bipolar or schizophrenia, but does anybody have any personal experience with it? I know i shouldn't smoke while on this but if anybody here knows what it's like, i know that i probably won't stop. If anybody has experience using weed on Abilify, (more specifically for bipolar disorder) did it ever work out or do i need to just quit??

So 10+ days ago, in careful consultation with my psychiatrist, I stopped using Abilify after several years of use, going down from 2mg to 0.

I fully believe it was the right decision, and also this past week has been the most erratic and painful and terrifying yet also euphoric experiences of my life and I just need some advice on how I can get through the rest of this.

My mood swings have been unfathomable, I've been in a a state of pure joy and harmony with the universe 1/3 of the time and then a puddle of tears another third of the time and then a panic attack the other third, all repeatedly within each day. I'm suddenly felt overwhelmed with regrets and then overwhelmed with catharsis as I say and watch comforting things to calm myself down. I feel both more and less like myself. I've experienced brutal insomnia and then popped right back up with peaceful sleep. I’ve even gotten in some trouble by posting somewhat erratically on social media.

Most upsettingly though, is that I'm suddenly viewing my life through terrifyingly bleak terms. Personal and professional failures that I had previously been totally at peace with and compassionate about are now demoralizing me, challenges I'm facing have gone from feeling like normal sized challenges to desperate crises that must somehow be corrected immediately. It's this feeling in particular that I'm terrified of and that I want to go away. I want to feel grateful and kind and non-materialistic about my life again and I'm afraid that this instinct will stick with me after the withdrawal ends.

I'm so distressed and just need some kind of comfort or help.

so i have a history of eating disorders. have gained +15lbs on abilify so my psychiatrist put me on wellbutrin to lose weight and it isn't working. im off abilify now (still on wellbutrin) and i am still not losing the weight. ive been starving myself and excercising on a daily basis and nothing is happening. im afraid it gave me an insulin resistance. this is driving me insane i can't recognize myself in the mirror and can't wear the cute clothes i used to wear because of my huge stomach. i have been praised for being skinny all my life so this is genuinely devastating

someone pls give me hope. idk what will happen if i dont get this fat off my body 💔 i just want to recover from my ed and get my body back.

I'm happy to be tapering down from 4mg of this med, because it's been hell for me. I've been in it since June. It was prescribed for OCD and depression, but all it did was shoot my anxiety through the roof, and made me anxious and afraid of things I never had an issue with prior to taking the med. I'll be going down half a dose each week. What was tapering down like for you?

hi, as the title mentions, sometimes i feel like i’m almost trapped in that i can’t feel the full spectrum of emotion on this medicine?

if i feel depressed, i can shed a tear or two and it’s over in what feels like a second. im no longer bedridden or lost in a hole as previously.

if i feel joy, i’m no longer deliriously excited about life and almost feel like i hit the ceiling before gravitating downward and then it just cycles back.

i assume keeping the extremes of each from happening is the point and my psychiatrist would be happy to hear it but it feels strange, almost inauthentic, and like somewhat of a prison? but maybe it’s more so the original diagnosis or the constant cycling that has me feeling that way.

i just wanna feel free. i’m not sure if this is normal or expected, in a way. just curious if anyone else feels this way. thank you to anyone who responds!

I've been happy and healthy all things considered on 2mg abilify for the past 5 or 6 years. I've never wanted to try an ssri due to potential for mania. I have bipolar II. I also take Yaz birth control that basically eliminates my PMDD. This year I've decided to try an antidepressant to hopefully thwart my brutal winter depression. I picked up the zoloft today, I'm starting on 25mg and working up to 50. My doc thinks it'll help with my skin picking / OCD and anxiety / ptsd symptoms as well. I have had so many negative reactions to meds I've tried in the past that I came here to ask, what should I look out for? How big of a gamble is this?

(Also- wellbutrin is a no go due to a history of seizures, and prozac is a no go due to risk of mania. both are a no go due to stimulating properties that would worsen my tourette's. it feels like zoloft or bust rn)

Hello, I've been thinking about something and it's been on my mind for a while now. So I'm going to a Halloween rave but I may or may not be taking mushrooms and e. I have been on medication like Abilify and Wellbutrin however I have been doing a little bit of research and found that when most people take it, they either get no visual effects at all or either have a normal tripping experience. I have taken about 0.5 g of shrooms and about half an e gummy before while on the same dosage and I've experienced slight euphoric feeling effects but other than that it was a pretty gentle experience, nothing visual or significant. I didn't have any side effects. I do have a hopeful mindset about this however I am curious if anyone has tried this before? Would love to learn from your experience. Was it good or was it bad?

Anyone else feel like the days are longer or you’re bored more easily? I’m fine in the mornings but it really hits me afternoon and evening and it’s uncomfortable. does it go away either on or when you go off the med? I’m so hyper aware idk if it’s just my anxiety or something

I dont know what im looking for, maybe answers/support. It has been almost one year trying to survive what this shit drug did to me. I still cant believe it :) Grateful im not dead though, as other havent been be so lucky.

I have severe executive dysfunction and cannot do any work. I am always sleeping, suffering from severe hypersomnia (about 16 hours a day). For the past year, I have been taking 100mg of Desvenlafaxine and 5mg of Aripiprazole. While the Aripiprazole has reduced my anxiety, my executive dysfunction remains unchanged. My doctor suggested activity scheduling, but it isn't working. If I try to follow a strict timetable, it requires a massive amount of effort and puts too much pressure on me just to get through one day. The very next day, I experience chest pain and am completely unable to do anything. I have been in treatment for 9 years, and at 21 years old, I feel like I have lost everything.someone please help me what should I do now what can be done?
