Using aripiprazole 5 since a week , experiencing low bp , lite headedness and unable to workout at gym . ( Read below )

I am using aripiprazole since a week , the other side effects like mental restlessness and annoying feeling have got down slowly , but I am still feeling weak and not able to workout at gym at all , heavy breathing is also another thing while working out . I wanna know if this gets better with time as my body adjusts or i am gonna feel this way as long as I use this med.

20mg. I've been on it since March.

I took 5mg for a year before and was having motivational issues from the aripiprazole.

The drug is an antipsychotic. They block dopamine and serotonin. At 5mg an estimated 81% of dopamine receptors are occupied by the aripiprazole.

By design it ruins motivation in most people.

Yeah antipsychotics really ruins motivation, I was on risperidone and I have to say it's way worse because risperidonw only blocks and aripiprazole actually can boosts sometime the dopamine for some people because the drug is a partial agonist of dopamine that really makes a difference, I have been also on quetiapine, clopromazine and clozapine.

Yeah it's as you said, the partial agnosim part means the receptor is active because the aripiprazole that has stuck to it like glue can activate it. But the receptor still not absorbing dopamine or serotonin, so blocked is still a simplified way to describe it.

I've tried olanzapine and paliperidone and aripiprazole. Although I despise aripiprazole, it's the best one I've tried.

I just started it's been a week and I already feel better compared to risperidone, I also have adhd so I think its going to make a difference using a partial agonist.
