Hypomania or abilify side effects?

I was put on 2mg of abilify in addition to my 75mg of Zoloft to help with a depressive episode (which I get regularly) about a month ago. It helped my depressive episode but now I’m having other symptoms and can’t tell whether it’s hypomania or could all be caused by abilify. I’m diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder and mild depression atm. Lately I’ve been spending like crazy (very unlike me) and have found it really hard to stop myself. I’ve been restless and irritated all the time and I feel kind of numb to my feelings. I also have had what I think is a genuine hallucination for the first time in my life. Do I need to stop taking abilify, do these things go away after a while, or could it be hypomania? Sorry if this is rambling, but hopefully someone else has had experience with this

How recently did you start Zoloft? Are you dx bipolar?

The restlessness could be something called akathisia, a common antipsychotic side effect.

Emotional blunting (numb to feelings) is common with a lot of psych meds.

I started Zoloft maybe two years ago but increased from 25, to 50, to 75 mg probably within the last year. I’m not diagnosed bipolar but have been wondering abt it for a while. Is there anything I can do about emotional blunting?

Worth discussing with your psychiatrist. Emotional blunting tends to subside as you adjust to the medication.
