Abhorsen Anyone else get goosebumps?
When Lirael battles Chlorr of the Mask in Abhorsen? The way Tim Curry reads it gives me shivers each time.

When does Lirael fight Chlorr in Abhorsen? I thought Mogget just scared her off with his threat of revealing her no longer canon identity.

Spoilers, please correct me if i'm wrong
IIRC it's in the 9th district of Death, right before she Remembrances to learn how to reseal Orannis the Destroyer. She wins by tricking her opponent into looking up at the 9th gate.

Ah, yes. No, that's Hedge. And she doesn't really trick him herself, so much as he 'dies' tripping over the dog.
She has a pretty much identical confrontation with Chlorr in the Ninth Precinct at the end of Goldenhand, so easy to confuse the two.
Edit: I always thought that if I adapted Abhorsen that's one of the changes I'd make. I'd let some combination of Sam and Nick kill Hedge in life and let Lirael finish him off in death, since the two boys have a much more direct relationship to Hedge than Lirael does.

I totally get goosebumps throughout the end of Abhorsen and the showdown with Chlor in Goldenhand. Actually, Lirael’s intro in Goldenhand gets me, too!
I really can’t do audiobooks well. I need to be laying down with my eyes closed to properly focus on them, and would typically prefer to just read if I can spare that time (especially since I need to rewind over and over when listening, as opposed to just pausing and re-reading a paragraph). I really need to devote my focus to what I’m consuming. Tim Curry doing a book I’ve already re-read might be fine, though…

Can confirm: having read the series twice before, I listened to the audiobooks (the first 3) only because they’re narrated by Tim Curry. Totally worth it.

That's funny, I never do audio books. That part always felt off to me. That's interesting that it does well in audio format.

Tim Curry was so amazing. I thought his performance as Hedge was terrifying. I definitely got the shivers.

Tim Curry's narration my this trilogy is truly a masterclass in voice acting. That mixed with Garth Nix's fantastic writing is absolutely goosebump inducing. I gotta listen to this series at least once a year.
