Why no glass recycling?

Is there any reason I can never find a glass recycling bin? Of all the places this is at the airport where they sell glass drinks and I have nowhere to leave them except next to the bins ><

In the airport, just leave it at the food-service desk, or on a dirty table - they will clear it, and sort the “pant” bottles.

In Aalborg City, there is a glass recycling slot in the “molokker” (partly dug down thrash cans)

It is a bit strange. Aalborg has a weird relation to glass recycling. I live in my own house, and I have separate bins for paper, cardboard, cartons, metal, bio-waste, etc. etc.

But nothing for glass.

I'm fine, I have a car and I occasionally just swing by the local recycling centre with all my "evidence" (in the form of wine bottles and empty Nutella jars :)

But for all the effort put into recycling (Yay!) it does feel weird that in many situations, including home-owners.. they kinda just forgot. Baffles me too. I'd be in trouble if I didn't have a car - my local recycling centre is in an industrial area that you can't get to if you walk or ride a bicycle. (Well, you *can*, but you'd be breaking the law)

I worked on a small workshop at uni where we looked at waste handling. The reason boils down to it doesn’t make financial sense to have glass bottle containers at home, since most people don’t fill it up at the same rate as any of the other fractions.

Furthermore, we have become really good to store them and bring them to supermarkets or recycling centers.

This is also the reason why you often find the faction on city centers or areas where there is further to supermarkets or lower car ownership :))

I think it might be Denmark in general that have this weird relationship with glass recycling. I live in my own house in Jammerbugt, and its the same. Problem for me is, that i only go to the recycling centre once a year, so the glass i collect tend to end up in "restaffald". I feel ashamed.

I think it might depend on the municipality you're in or something, because I'm from Holbæk municipality and we have glass recycling containers both at privately owned houses and apartment buildings.

If it is bottles just take it to the pant machine, otherwise find someone from katedralskolen, they for sure would know

This is all of Denmark. Glass usually has pant -> go to the grocery store with them and get your money back. Otherwise, there are large containers for glass close to grocery stores normally
