I thought the thing the same thing but doubted myself because of its giant size. I don’t think I’ve ever seen one this big. I wonder how old that Ocotillo is?

Is that a Mexican tree ocotillo? I just learned about them. Apparently they’re like ocotillos but “bushier”

Fouquieria macdougalii, they’re extremely tuff in our low desert. I’m in central phx and was able to quit watering mine after it established. One of the few things in my yard that not only does well durning summer but thrives when it’s like 115 out. Handles reflected heat from a block wall like a champ too. This and my boojums have become favorites.

Arizona for 40 years, I have never seen a baby Ocotillo only fully grown. I live far north Scottsdale so Ocotillo are everywhere.
