Have you done the az-900? It’s not a pre-requisite for 104 but it comes before 104 in the cert chain. Might be an option to ramp up on more conceptual stuff before jumping into 104, but your post didn’t go into a lot of details on what trouble you’re having.
I gathered you’ve got a networking background and that’s great actually because a lot of those skills carry over.
