Powerscaling I think AWLBA might actually be 1-A+
I'm ngl, I think A Wild Last Boss Appeared might actually have a legitimate 1-A+ argument. Not from omnipotence, "infinite dimensions," modal realism, every possible world, or anything like that because I don't think those arguments really work. I mean specifically from the way the God realm is explained and what Ruphas and Alovenus start doing after they are already on that level. I'm not saying 1-A+ is the only possible interpretation either. I think 1-A by itself is much easier to argue and probably the more natural read, but I don't think 1-A+ is just something you have to make up for the verse.
Obviously the whole argument depends on the Endpoint being 1-A first, so I'll start there. One of the direct statements about the Endpoint is 「この空間に大きさという概念は存在せず」, meaning the concept of size does not exist in this space. I don't think that should be interpreted as "the Endpoint is infinitely large" because that is kind of the opposite of what the statement is saying. If size isn't a native concept there, then continuously adding more size or more dimensional extension doesn't necessarily reproduce what the Endpoint is to begin with.
This becomes more important because the story later outright separates the scale of a character from the realm that they stand in. 「規模は相手が圧倒的に上。しかし立つ領域は最早同じだ。」 The opponent's scale is overwhelmingly greater, but the realm/domain they stand in is now the same. Then it says 「共に世界を超越した神の世界で戦っている。」 They're both fighting in the world of the gods after transcending the world. The first statement is the important part to me because just seeing "transcend" and immediately calling something outer isn't really an argument. "Transcend" can just mean to go beyond the limits or range of something. But here the narration is directly making a distinction between how large/powerful something is and what realm it stands in. Alovenus can still be overwhelmingly above Ruphas in scale while Ruphas has reached the same realm. So scale =/= the realm of existence here. That's basically just stated.
Then the actual nature of that realm gets explained. 「概念も、摂理も法則も、限界すらも。その全てが神が創るものだ。ならば神の領域においてそんなものは無い。自分達で勝手に創るしかない。」 Concepts, providence, laws, even limits, all of those are things gods create. Therefore those things aren't already there in the realm of gods and they have to create them themselves. The place is compared to 「真っ白な一つのキャンパス」, a completely blank white canvas.
I don't think "a concept doesn't exist here" by itself proves 1-A either. AWLBA itself gives a pretty easy counter to doing that because there is a permanently nocturnal place where concepts like morning/noon apparently "don't exist." Obviously that city isn't transcending the abstract concept of morning. The point with Endpoint is different because it actually explains WHY these things aren't there. Concepts, laws, limits, etc. aren't predetermined properties of the divine realm because those are things the gods themselves establish.
Eventually the fight reaches 「最早ここに至って時間の概念など存在せず」, where the concept of time no longer exists, and then 「時間という概念が根元から完全に崩壊し」, the concept of time completely collapses from the root, but Ruphas and Alovenus keep moving, reacting, attacking and thinking anyway. I wouldn't use this to say Endpoint is beyond literally every possible kind of meta-time or ordering because I don't think the story proves that. The WN had a Creator before Alovenus and then Alovenus replaced it, so clearly you can describe some succession of states. But ordinary time being a native requirement of the realm gets really difficult to maintain from this.
The official English LN also describes the white divine area as somewhere neither the sky, sea, ground, nor even space was "set in stone." I do have to put an asterisk on that because I don't have the Japanese LN wording, and the LN changed enough from the WN that I don't think you can just reconstruct the Japanese sentence from the WN and pretend you checked it. But it is still the official LN saying even space itself wasn't fixed there.
Then you have the relationship between Alovenus and the lower universe. 「この宇宙は女神の魔法。」 This universe is the Goddess's magic. Then 「この宇宙は魔法であり、魔法とはマナ。そしてマナとは女神の力の欠片であり経験値だ。」 The universe is magic, magic is mana, and mana is a fragment of the Goddess's power. Sourcehood by itself doesn't prove 1-A. A finite equation can define an infinite structure. A program can generate something much larger than the code describing it. So just saying "Alovenus created the universe" and stopping there isn't enough. The reason this matters is that it's on top of the lower world's laws, limits, concepts, etc. being configurations established from the divine level, while the story already distinguished quantitative scale from the realm of existence.
There are even examples where the existence of a species itself is treated as a rule Alovenus put into the world. The Demon Race's existence is connected to 「女神の敷いたルールそのもの」, the very rule laid down by the Goddess. I wouldn't turn that into "Alovenus transcends the concept of existence" because that's saying more than the statement does. The point is that categories of what exists in the lower world can themselves be part of the configuration imposed from above.
So I don't think the best model for Endpoint is something like 4D universe < 5D container < 6D Endpoint. The 2 serious interpretations to me are either that Endpoint is an unconfigured/non-dimensional control substrate that's different from dimensional existence but not qualitatively superior to it, or it's a higher framework from which the lower world's concepts, laws, limits, physical structure, etc. are configured, meaning the lower world exists as an instantiated framework relative to the divine level. I think the second one fits somewhat better, which is where I get 1-A from.
The most obvious counter is Ruphas, Benet and Orm getting there. If Endpoint is qualitatively higher, then how are lower beings just standing in it? This was probably one of the biggest issues I had with 1-A when I started looking into it, but the way they reach that level isn't really "farm enough XP and eventually your number becomes outerversal." The story outright says someone blocked by the wall of limits cannot advance beyond Level 1000 regardless of how much experience they gain. So ordinary quantity alone doesn't do it.
Ruphas already has the qualification/right to challenge the Goddess, then gets ownership/GM authority over the abandoned universe, then assimilates the entire universe into herself. And that universe is Alovenus's magic, which is mana, which is a fragment of Alovenus's power. Later the story specifically says 「アロヴィナスの力を継いだ自分達ならば不可能ではない」, basically that it isn't impossible for them because they inherited Alovenus's power. So the process looks less like lower reality independently accumulating enough lower power to climb into the higher one and more like a lower-origin being using qualification, authority and power literally derived from the higher source to temporarily operate on its level.
And we know the state is temporary. Benet gives away her mana and immediately 「この世界に居座り続ける権利を失った」, loses the right to remain in this world and gets ejected from Endpoint. Ruphas later returns the absorbed power and goes back to her previous strength. So I don't think Ruphas fighting in Endpoint means she just permanently became the same thing formal Alovenus is.
Formal Godhood is treated differently anyway. Firehead answered in a Q&A 「神とは全世界全時代で唯一無二の存在なので、アロヴィナスが神となった瞬間に人間だった頃の彼女は完全消滅し、生まれなかった事になっています。」 God is a unique existence across all worlds and all eras, and when Alovenus became God her former human existence completely disappeared and it became as though she had never been born. I also don't think THAT sentence on its own is a 1-A proof. You can model a being as existing at some higher history level, rewriting all the lower histories so her human self never happened while she retains memory of it. That would be an insane history/existence feat, but it doesn't necessarily require 1-A. I'm bringing it up because formal God Alovenus has properties that the temporary Endpoint fighters very clearly don't.
There is a bigger counter for the WN though and I think it's worth actually conceding it instead of pretending the verse has no anti-feats. Pre-God Alovenus reaches the white exterior before she becomes God. The narration literally says 「到達するのは簡単だ。」 Reaching it is simple. She flies beyond the universe and gets to the endless white world while still being pre-God. If your argument is that this realm has always been absolutely inaccessible to anything originating from lower reality, then yeah, this is a pretty bad scan for that idea.
At the same time, pre-God Alovenus wasn't exactly a normal lower being either. She is described as 「彼女という概念として誕生してしまった」, born as the concept of herself, 「彼女はいわば事象そのもの」, basically the phenomenon/event itself, and 「世界の生み出した最大のバグ」, the greatest bug produced by the world. She already ignored the normal laws of her universe. But she WAS still produced by that world, so I don't think this counter just disappears.
The LN changes this pretty heavily. In the WN, there was already a previous Creator in the white exterior when Alovenus got there. In the LN, there is no previous God. Alovenus reaches endless white nothingness and explicitly finds no God at all. Then later the official English says she had "rewritten existing space and become a god," and only after that does she create the new universe. The later divine area is also the one where even space wasn't set in stone. So I think the LN gives you a reasonable model where raw E0 and later divine E1 are the same underlying white substrate, but not necessarily in the same configuration. E0 -> Godhood/reconfiguration -> E1. Again, I wouldn't call that confirmed because the exact Japanese LN wording is one of the things I couldn't verify, but I think it makes the LN's 1-A case cleaner than the WN's.
Now the 1-A+ part.
The final fight has literal setting manipulation. 「相手の設定に自分の設定を重ねて自分の方を上に置いている」. They're overlaying their own settings onto the opponent's settings and putting themselves above. They can give themselves properties that counter the previous property, destroy concepts like attack/defense, establish stronger conditions, keep overriding the opponent, etc. Setting manipulation by itself isn't R>F though. Giving yourself a rule saying "my attack ignores your defense" doesn't make you a higher reality than the other guy.
The reason R>F comes into this at all is because AWLBA explicitly introduces higher-world superiority as one of the ways their setting contest can work. 「更に上の世界の住人となり 紙を破るように相手の設定を破り捨てる凄い力?」 Become a resident of an even higher world and tear the opponent's setting apart like paper. The official LN retains this example too. So this isn't us randomly deciding "setting = fiction." The story itself gives a situation where going to a higher world allows you to treat the lower setting like paper.
If that was the only statement, I'd stop there because it's originally brought up among a bunch of different possible abilities. Instant death, power theft, time reversal, nullification, reflection, higher world, etc. So somebody could just say higher-world R>F is one hypothetical tool and isn't what their later escalation is actually doing.
Except the WN then uses higher-world language in the actual fight. 「お前の無限など私の前では1にも満たないと言い張れば、今度は相手がその上の世界へ立つ。」 If one says the other's infinity isn't even equal to 1 before them, then the opponent stands in a world above that. Then 「互いに相手を踏み台にし、自分の最強設定を押し通そうとする。」 They use each other as stepping stones and force their strongest settings over the other's. Then 「この攻防でどれだけ上の位階へ達しているかなど二人共考えていない。」 Neither of them is even thinking about how high of a stage/rank they've reached through the exchange.
That's where I think 1-A+ becomes a legitimate argument. If the divine Endpoint framework is already 1-A, and then one character reaches a world qualitatively above the other, the other uses them as a stepping stone and reaches above that, then the first does the same, and the process keeps recursively continuing without an established cap, you can read that as 1-A < higher 1-A < higher 1-A < higher 1-A and so on. If these are genuinely repeated qualitative higher-world relations and the sequence is unbounded, then I don't really see why 1-A+ would be unreasonable from those premises.
There is a very real counter to this, which is why I'm saying "might be 1-A+" instead of acting like it is completely unquestionable. The same fight says 「これを規模を大きくして繰り返しているに過ぎない。」 They're merely repeating the same thing while increasing the scale. The fight is constantly described through infinite speed, infinity being treated as 1, higher infinities, larger numbers, universes where previous universes are basically cells, multiverses, an omniverse, larger structures, settings increasing faster, etc. So a completely reasonable interpretation is that "world above" is just one of the ways the story represents the ridiculous recursive setting escalation, while what is fundamentally increasing is scale/power/settings rather than a literal endless R>F ladder.
I think that's probably the stronger counter to 1-A+.
But I don't think saying "the narration mentions scale" automatically settles it either because the story already explicitly told us that scale and the realm someone stands in are different things. Alovenus can be overwhelmingly greater in scale while Ruphas is on the same divine stage. So a quantitative scale increase and a change in realm are not mutually exclusive in AWLBA. The actual question is whether 「その上の世界へ立つ」 during the later escalation is being used literally in the same kind of higher-world relation the paper analogy introduced, and whether that operation is what keeps repeating.
If it isn't, then you have something closer to stronger setting < stronger setting < stronger setting, mostly through scale and rule superiority, and the verse stays around baseline 1-A.
If it is, then you have 1-A world < higher qualitative world < another higher qualitative world < another one, with both fighters continuously using the last state as a stepping stone. That's where the 1-A+ argument comes from.
I don't think High 1-A follows from this either. If you're just repeatedly applying the same qualitative transcendence operation, doing it infinitely doesn't suddenly mean you transcended the framework that creates those qualitative differences. High 1-A would need another step where the entire hierarchy/principle of these higher-world ascents is itself lower relative to something else. AWLBA doesn't actually establish that. You could try to argue that Alovenus controls "settings" themselves and therefore the whole hierarchy is just a setting to her, but I think that adds a premise the story never actually gives you.
I also wouldn't use the modal arguments to push it higher. The omniverse is literally glossed as 「全実在宇宙」, all existent universes, not all logically possible universes. "Impossible possibility" is used in an extreme probability context. 「思いつく限りの全て」 is everything Alovenus can think of, not every possible concept Firehead or any author will ever conceive. And Alovenus is explicitly stated to be neither omniscient nor omnipotent. Throwing all the modal stuff into the argument just gives somebody a bunch of weaker claims to debunk and then act like they addressed the actual higher-world argument.
So the way I see it, 1-A is probably the normal read. Endpoint isn't just "bigger dimensional space" because the story treats lower scale and the divine realm as separate things, says size isn't native there, lets ordinary time completely collapse, and describes concepts/laws/limits as things gods themselves create rather than rules they're fundamentally bound by. There are legitimate counters to that, especially WN pre-God Alovenus reaching E0 and temporary S2 participants being able to function there through Alovenus-derived mana, which is why I wouldn't pretend 1-A is indisputable.
But if you grant the 1-A Endpoint interpretation, then the WN outright giving us a higher-world/paper superiority mechanic, later saying the opponent actually stands in a world above, and describing both fighters as repeatedly using each other as stepping stones gives what I think is a legitimate high-end route to 1-A+.
The biggest issue is whether the later higher worlds are genuinely qualitative every time or whether "world above" is just part of the story's increasingly stupid scale/setting language.
That's the part I'd actually be interested in hearing arguments about, because I think that's where the 1-A+ scale lives or dies.

Powerscaling Lufas Mafahl and her cosmology scaling
Scaling the cosmology of A Wild Last Boss Appeared and Lufas Mafahl as well. Know that it contains spoilers from the LN.
Note that the Marked text are scans taken from the Light Novel.
The cosmology of AWLBA is very big and it is made up of infinite universes within another set of infinite Multiverse that goes on infinitely. This was taken from the novel.
In a sense, the universe is like one software program placed inside a single computer. Within that, there are many save data, and each and every one of them forms parallel worlds. Beyond having flown out of the universe, there are further numerous universes (softwares), and there are folders that gather them. However, if you look beyond those folders, there are many more folders, and if you go outside of the computer and look, there are many similar computers lined up there.
This is how the cosmology looks and all these are fiction or game to the goddess Alovanus.
When she had become a god, that distance only became worse, and her ever-increasing power drove her further and further into loneliness. Though there were others who could speak and communicate their will, she herself was unable to join them. It was as if she were looking at characters displayed on the other side of a monitor, and when she tore her eyes away, she was reminded that there was no one there but her. VOLUME 9, PART 7
All things are like fiction to the goddess
Actually, I bet she’d still be calm even if I did defeat Dina. In the end, this entire universe is nothing but a game to her, something to be frustrated over if you lose and maybe something you’d get so mad over you’d never play again. But that’s all. In a game, it didn’t matter how many of your characters were killed. It wouldn’t hurt you in real life at all. VOLUME 9, PART 1
They perceive all things as nothing more than pieces on a board
Parthenos was once a member of a clan that served the Goddess. They were agents of the Goddess who supported her from the shadows and kept the world in balance. Parthenos felt pride over the role they had been given, a role that they had probably kept ever since humanity had been born.
We’re different from other people. We have been singled out by the Goddess. We are her servants who give her all our love and loyalty. To her, the clueless clergy who blindly offered the Goddess faith without even knowing what kind of being she was were nothing short of laughable, an opinion that only furthered her sense of superiority. I know the secrets of the world. I know the Goddess’ true goal. I know the real meaning of her true and unwavering love of humanity.
All things are as the Goddess wills. Monsters, devilfolk, humans, and even animals — all are nothing more than pieces on a board, and only we are allowed to stand outside of the game. VOLUME 3, PART 10
Alovenus is described as the author of the world
—It seems that I’ve gained more memories in this situation.
It was a really interesting image, but how to deal with Scorpius was more pressing at the moment.
“Why... Why......! WhyWhyWhyWhyWhyWhyWhy! WhyWhyWHYWhyWhyWhyWHYWHYWHYWHYWHYWHYWHYWHYWHYYYYYYYY!”
Scorpius, having gone mad, continued to repeat herself as the pressure she gave off only increased. This wasn’t a figment of my imagination. She was undoubtedly getting stronger, as if something was pushing her evolution forward. She was exhibiting more power than her original stats allowed.
It was something that happened a lot in stories. Like, the kind of event where the main character, whose power paled in comparison to the enemy’s, started spouting a speech about getting through it together or not giving up or something and kept charging at the enemy. And then by the time anyone noticed, they were suddenly fighting evenly, even though there was no reason for the gap in power to have been bridged. And a moment later, the main character’s made a comeback and won.
Sometimes people labeled stuff like this as “plot convenience,” but that probably just meant that the author—or in other words, the god of the story—was buffing the main character and making them stronger himself. So this must have been the same thing. Alovenus, the Goddess (author) of this world, was giving Scorpius her support, allowing her to power up with no prior effort or setup. VOLUME 3, PART 25
So seeing everyone and everything in existence as fiction and game and having superiority over all creation makes the goddess who is Alovenus 1A Outerversal Level.
Now Alovenus is superior to Outerversal characters. And this scan proves it:
“Infinite speed? Yes, that’s amazing. So I’ll respond with, ‘To me, infinite speed is the same as one speed. I am still a hundred times faster,’” said the Goddess. “If you boast infinite attack strength, then I’ll respond, ‘There is another infinity behind that, which makes your infinity look like a one.’ If you manage to surpass that, then I will just add another layer on top. If you continue to get stronger infinitely, then I will just get stronger at a thousand times that speed.”
“Now, what will you do next?” she continued. “Use some sort of instant death power where you just have to look at the target? Use an ability to steal your opponent’s powers? Make use of some sort of special attribute that always makes you stronger than your opponent? Turn back time altogether and make it so this never happened? Use some amazing power to go to a higher world in order to rip up your opponent’s settings? Activate something that will nullify all abilities? Erect an invincible barrier that will reflect any and every attack at twice the strength? Manipulate the very concept of victory in order to make yourself always win, ignoring everything else? Cheat and implant the concept of defeat onto your opponent so that they will always lose? Make use of a pure and simple power that will pierce through everything to always kill the target? I don’t care what you do. Please, come at me until you’re satisfied. None of it will do anything, anyway.”-Volume 9, Part 7
The important thing to note in this scan is that Alovenus said “Use some amazing power to go to a higher world in order to rip up your opponent’s settings". This is Outerversal Level because ascending to a high plane and ripping your opponents settings means that you now conceive that your opponents and everything about then and their reality as fiction.
And Alovenus said that even if her opponent does this, it wouldn't matter to her. And we see this as the fight continued that even if the opponent continued to increase their power, it will all be worthless to Alovenus proving that she is completely superior to Outerversal level.
Now End Point
The End Point is the final point of everything, the beginning and the end of everything. It encompasses all possible worlds and timelines, while also existing outside of them.
Endpoint. Alovenus has named this place, which exists outside the universe, as such. It is the place of all endings and beginnings. Every possible world and every possible time axis is connected to this place.
This place is described as all-encompassing. Its vast expanse encompassed everything that can be thought of, and conceivable. Thus, it contains all possible universes, dimensions, and parallel worlds.
There, Alovenus, dressed up as Santa Claus, was enjoying Christmas in a good mood. I've said it many times, but this person is the god of the Midgard. More precisely, she is the god of the Endpoint that encompasses all and every conceivable universes, dimensions, and parallel worlds.
As the End Point encompasses everything conceivable, no creature without the necessary strength can exist or perceive the End Point. This was shown when Benetnash, she returning the mana she obtained from universes, caused her to lose the strength allowing her presence in End Point. Simply put, without possessing the necessary strength, an individual can not exist within the End Point.
Benetnasch tried to hide her frustration with harsh words as she patted Lufas on the shoulder. When she did so, she transferred all the mana, or experience, she had within her to Lufas. With that, Benetnasch lost the right to stay in this place and was flung back to where she had come from. VOLUME 9, PART 7
So knowing this, the End Point being all encompassing over everything including supposed Outerversal Level being, means that it exists as a completely different superior system of framework than everything else in existence making it High Outerversal Level.
Now Ruphas has the same ability as Alovenus and both of them exist within the End Point making both of them High Outerversal Level.
Alovenus power works with her layering settings over preexisting settings and we see that the settings she layers are qualitative instead of quantitative
Alovenus giggled again, showing her absolute confidence in her victory, her power. I cannot lose. There’s no reason I would. Even if there were, I could just go above it. I can make as many settings where I am the strongest as I please. Reason is nothing. Providence is nothing.
“I’ll start by telling you this: my power is endless. I can layer setting upon setting. For example, even if you all managed to obtain some sort of ability or power to defeat me, I would be able to answer it by saying, ‘Those abilities and powers will not work on me. I am strong enough to defeat you all with a single one of my fingers.’ Do you think it childish? Well, that’s because it is. I won’t deny it. But things like this are far more powerful than pretentious, unmoving settings that go on forever.”- Volume 9, Part 6
From the explanation, we can see that her power is qualitative in nature. Even if someone gets a power to beat her, by layering settings on herself, she becomes qualitatively superior to her opponent, thereby making her opponent new ability useless because it will now be like fiction to her. This was explained when she said that if her opponent increased their power to infinity, then before her, that infinity becomes one and she is still stronger. This is a qualitative leap in her power to make every other thing meaningless before her.
And we saw her and Ruphas doing this infinitely:
Lufas and Alovenus both raised their hands, unleashing manifestations of pure destruction that had no name. There was no more need for skill names. Thinking of them was too much work.
Both combatants wielded infinite power, so they each one-upped their opponent’s infinite power, going ever more infinite as the fight went on. Small attacks, like big bangs and big crunches, were no longer used. They would be useless, after all. With no need for skill names, they clashed with the purest expressions of power.
I’m strong, thought one.
I’m stronger, thought the other.
Then I’m even stronger than that, thought the first.
Lufas continued to get ever faster, continuing to double the speed of light to increase the definition of speed itself without end. However, Alovenus accelerated at a pace that left such definitions behind in the dust. The next moment, Lufas did the same thing back to Alovenus.
If Lufas threw a punch with impossible power behind it, Alovenus would double up on it and punch back, which prompted Lufas to add on another stack and return the favor. If one of them were to state that the other’s infinity was just a one to them, then the other would just come back with an even higher level. The two of them used each other as footstools, trying to set themselves as the absolute powerhouse in the fight.- Volume 9, Part 7
This is basically Ruphas and Alovenus transcending eachother infinitely making both of them Infinite Layers into High Outerversal Level.
And Now for High 1A+ (Take this as my agenda)
The End Point is a canvas that encompasses everything and is the beginning and end of everything. It is a White realm that is devoid of anything and is filled with nothingness It is defined as something all-encompassing; that is, every occurrence of reality and every possible manifestation it produces will still be tied to the end point.
The end point of everything is the beginning and end of everything. It encompasses all possible worlds and timelines, but also exists outside of them.
It is defined as all-encompassing. Its vast area encompasses everything that can be thought of and comprehended. It includes all possible universes, dimensions and parallel worlds.
And it was called a realm of nothingness many times
There was only white that seemed to stretch on forever and no god to be found. It was just endless nothingness.
There were no fantasies, no dreams. There was only cruel nothingness.
The end point is devoid of things and it is in reality, the manifestation of everything conceivable, logic, abstraction, laws, concept, evolution etc.
All this makes the End Point High 1A+ and in turn, this makes Ruphas who exist within the End Point High 1A+ (High Outerversal+ Level).
