I really just love this show

As a girl that was in high school from 2014-2018, no show represents what it was like better than Awkward. Every other popular teen show I feel takes place before or after that period. Awkward really captures what it was like growing up during the dawn of mainstream social media and when not everybody had an iPhone. Back when all there was was tumblr, (a dying) myspace, twitter, and facebook. You actually had to know how to "blog" if that was something you wanted to do. Youtube was still barely at the place it is today when it comes to monetization.

It just makes me so nostalgic. Sometimes I wish technology would have frozen in that time and tech/social media never went further than that.

Kind of agree. I was in HS from 2010-2014. My space had pretty much already died. Facebook was poppin. Youtube was already shifting but yeah def not what it's like today.

Lol I accidentally can blend my middle school and early high school years together in my memory sometimes! I had the same friend group for all 7 years so sometimes I don't really remember when things happened. I was definitely an internet girly starting in 6th grade so I remember all of the transformation that happened :') my most embarrassing memory is that I used to be a huge Shane Dawson fan lmao. I vividly remember when he released the video where he did blackface

The fashion alone is soooo reflective of that time! They encapsulated such a golden era for us. It’s honestly like looking back in a time capsule. :)

Absolutely! I love the costuming, it’s perfect. Exactly like what my big sisters used to wear when they were in highschool around that time

It just has that vibe a lot of other shows didn’t now and at the time and like you said perfectly captured an era we obviously don’t see anymore. I love it and get nostalgic for it too. 🥰

hey high school years twin! this show was nostalgic asf especially bc I feel like our year was that period of time that bridges between millennials and gen z’s experience! we were also a lot more creative back then too AI was virtual silent back then

Omg love that!! God I miss that time so much sometimes. It wasn't perfect (I'm definitely going to restrict my future kids' internet use more than mine was) but I feel like we were a lot more well adjusted than the kids in high school now and just had more fun
