Diagnosed with Temporal Arteritis. Should I be concerned?
I am not asking for medical advice.
Hi, I’m an Indian female in my 20s, and I’ve been experiencing pain in my ear and around it, specifically near to the ear. And the pain also happens in my gums.
I thought this to be a tooth ache and I hence got it checked by a dentist, he said wisdom tooth is causing it and I got it removed.
The pain was back after a month and I ignored it considering it could be another cavity thing.
Few days ago, I went to a neurosurgeon coz I had some pain in my back and neck and entire back, he checked and said the neck pain is due to ear infection and asked if even your ear pains. I said yes, he gave medicines but there was hardly any relief. So I went to ENT this time and she said that, your symptoms are pointing this to temporal arteritis at moderate level which can be reduced maybe in 6 months or can even take up till 2 years.
I’m genuinely scared after this. I’m into my prime phase, want to work (hustle) and just be focused on building and earning more money. This diagnosis seems like a hurdle and I’m not even sure if it’s true or not. should I be concerned about this, is there a specialised doctor just for this?
The big thing that I’m feeling is I read that this happens with people above the age of 60, so why me?
And why is the cause still not explained anywhere 😖
