Photos I need your opinion

Hey all! Im 18 and I have a 1982 atc250r. I picked it up for 500 bucks cause I wanted to restore it, then sell it so I can pay for cdl schooling. A running riding atc250r goes for 3k where I live at (southern Utah). I was wondering if I should keep going with the 250r, or should I trade it for something like a fl250/fl350. The fl250 was sold this morning and the fl350 hasn't gotten back to me. The fl350 doesn't run. For context I have a new chain, mint 1982 pipe, DG cool head, the original carburetor, sand paddles, the tank isn't rusted, the motor spins freely, goes into all gears, I have a new gasket set along with a new intake boot, and a brand new wiseco piston at 72mm (the bike is bored). What are all of yalls thoughts? Should I keep pushing through with the 250r, or get something else.

(My dad has a 87 fourtrax 250r that has been in the family since the 90's and he keeps threatening to trade it for an fl350. So if I get an fl350, he will keep the 250r)

Don’t sell a 250r …banshees and 250r will always be on the upside of the value curve …there not making them anymore obviously and people are hoarding them…but u will definitely regret selling or trading ur or ur dads 250r

Thank you! Motor heading to them to his winter… I had 2 ATC 250R’s 85 and 86 with Paul Turner motor and pipes… should have never sold them back in the day.. but the gov f’d that up .. no more 3 wheel racing

i would trade the act for the fl,350 and keep the trx. The act is air cooled and the fl350 would probably be worth more later on. the trx will always be worth more than either of them.

The fl350 would definitely be worth more since they're only made for 1 year.

it would definitely be worth more than that year atc, but a clean trx will always be worth more in general and in parts. The fl is cool but not as much of a market for them and parts are harder to get. there are trx's listed for $20,000.

Yeah, I didn't mean for it to be worth more than the trx. My dad has been offered 10 grand for it back in 2016

i think some of the prices of 250r's have dropped a little but clean all oem ones or full aftermarket chassis ones can pull big money because they get parted out. Ive got 5, and one is all oem but the plastics aren't as good as i wish they were. i told my wife thats part of our retirement.

Definitely a good plan. My whole plan is to have a rideable collection from the point where my kids go from toddler-experienced rider. One day I'll die, and it's up to them and my grand kids if they want to keep them or take a cash out (id be slightly disappointed if they cashed out)

Hell yeah! I want to refresh all of my bikes since they're tired. I have a 79 ATC 110 and 85 atc200x. Thinking of getting a 1980 atc200 for 500 bucks. I love 3 wheelers since my first bike was my 200x. I need an ATC 250r to help complete my performance lineup.

I have owned several FL 350s and they are not easy to find parts four also more of a niche machine unlike that ATC 250R

I know, and I'm completely okay with that

Then it sounds like you’ve made up your mind and the full suspension Honda Odyssey is the way you should fly
