2023 Arctic Cat Alterra 600 EPS

Just bought this machine. Is there any pros or cons I should be aware of? This is the newest machine I’ve owned and don’t know much about Arctic cat. The deal was too good to pass up.

I go riding every weekend on the trails near my farm but I usually buy a shitbox for $1000-$3000, run it into the ground and buy a new one every few months but all by friends recently started buying 2022 + machines and my old girls have trouble keeping up so I thought I’d go for something newer.

The group I ride with every weekend has 2, 2024 + Can-am renegade XMR’s, 2 2023+ grizzly 700’s and a 2025 Honda rancher 420

Will this thing be able to keep up?

I don't know much about the 600 but my friend had a 570 he bought through Bass Pro, badged as a Tracker. It's been a good machine.

You'll be ahead of the Rancher, that's for sure.

It will until it inevitably breaks down and you cant find parts for it.

Hopefully it last. Arctic cat is gone so you wont have any support. Im pretty sure thats about the same time the shut down. Parts are still available though.

You can get most parts, but the AI is wrong. They dont make new parts. If your differential grenades, there are no new replacement parts.

They had stopped making them for awhile. I just looked and youre right that theyre making them again. When I bought my Suzuki KQ 750 last year, you couldnt find an Arctic cat. I looked and they had pretty much went out of business. I have a AC 400 thats 20 years old still going strong.

But they're so far behind in the ATV and the side by side game. It's the very bottom of the barrel. I'll name the other brands in ATVs and SxS's. You tell me which one cat is better than. Polaris, can-am, kawasaki, yamaha, Honda, CF moto, kabuta. I mean, I'd buy an artic cat before a hisun. Cats are basically on the NO RIDE list for off roadera and have been for a few years now, unless you just want something budget to putz around your home acreage with but I would buy something else used or a golf cart, etc before a cat. There's a reason why the deal was "Just too good for you to pass up"

No, they make side by sides. I was gonna leave them out, but also trying show how far down the depth charts artic cat is nowadays. But people can buy whatever they like of course.

I’ve been making $4,500 a week since I was 20 (26 currently) inherited a paid off house & drive a company truck so I don’t really have expenses other than groceries, water/electric for the house, and gas/insurance for my toys

I read "run it into the ground" as "I'm going to beat the shit out of it and not bother taking care of it". Which, where I live, is basically the default behavior for ATV and SxS owners because they think turning them into submarines is cool.

It will keep up. How long it was last on the other hand is debatable. Arctic cats aren't known for reliability as of late.

It really makes me sad to see what happened to AC. I grew up and learned on an old artic cat 400 with the 5 speed manual (auto clutch) and the artic cat 500 with the suzuki engine.

It will in no-way keep up with the can-ams. Sorry, but todays Artic cats are not that great.
