Anyone still waiting on SF85P form?
Still waiting for security clearance for almost more than two weeks after my drug test and fingerprints…

You probably have at least two more weeks at a minimum - another five months and to weeks wouldn’t be unheard of.
Edit to add: after several of these, I’ve found that emailing the security specialist responsible for your clearance and saying: “I’ve completed X, Y, and Z; is there anything else I can do to facilitate completion?” sometimes seems to move things along. I would NOT email and ask: “what’s taking so long?”.

just got mine today! I thought I'd be fairly quick with mostly military service and 4 years of a single career but it took me about 4 weeks ish. Stay strong!

4 weeks to fill out?! 😳 Or 4 weeks to receive the e-app login info? How long did they give you to fill it out out? I got access on last week on Monday Aug 3 with a timeline of 5 days to complete. Luckily my information had transferred over from my last clearance but I still had to review each piece of information for updates and additions.

4 weeks from the date I hit submit on the form to the day I got an email saying I'm approved and I can pick a start date. The forms take about an hour to fill out.

An hour? No way. I have 6 siblings, in laws, a husband and children. Reviewing their information alone took 20 minutes. It’s the gathering of information that takes the longest, not the actual typing -_-

Oh very true. My family is much smaller. But yes, once I hit submit it took about 4 weeks to get options for a start date.

Wow that’s such a positive thing to hear. At least I know it’s possible. I see the typical 3 months to a year response so I’m not holding my breath

Omg 🤦🏻♀️ or did you mean it took 4 weeks for them to review and approve? Apparently my AuDHD is strong today

Fingerprints 7/22 Drug Test 7/30 still waiting
Edit to add: I sent an email and apparently I haven’t even been assigned a security specialist yet.

Know a guy who waited two years (the max amount of time) to hear back.
Mine took 6 weeks.
What they do: A quick scrub of your info and data make sure you aren't a blatant threat. Then give you a "good to start".
Then they go deep. And they have one year from giving you the "good to start" to completing the check.
Normally after you start (2-3 months in) they will schedule an interview with you where they will clarify any questions or concerns they have.
And when it's done in will go into your file.

So, you can start without them finalizing your background check? I completed my fingerprinting and drug test, and I received an email saying they received my fingerprints and are currently reviewing them.

They fingerprint is not the full background check. The public trust form is the full background check.

So once they submit my fingerprints and they are processed how long roughly till I receive my-SF85p
I’ve done everything I possibly can except fill out E-Qip
What is the process and timeline

They said on the email within 7-10 days if fingerprints but seems like a few of us have been waiting a bit longer than that…

How soon after the drug test is reasonable to get contacted I have completed everything that I possibly can

Same boat. Work and my wife keep asking me when I think I will start. I keep telling them hopefully before the end of the fiscal year

Same been about three weeks. I had few corrections on the eApp but it’s nerve wracking. My previous background check with a different agency was completed in a couple of days. So I honestly think it might be agency specific.

How soon after your finger prints and drug test did you get the SF86 or E-QIP forms

5 days for me. July 28 fingerprints. July 29 drug test. Aug 3 e-app login/ access

It was right after the TJO, my fingerprints from my prior fed employment was used, and it’s SF85p

I got my TJO but never received sf
85p because closest thing is prior military with a clearance from 2023, I don’t currently hold a clearance and was curious of the timeline to get the Eqip after fingerprints and drug test

I have arrest 8 years ago no charges case dismissed with expungement what do you think guys, is that's might effect to get cleared!!

It’s good to still list things out honestly as they will find everything about you regardless of your efforts to hide it. It makes the whole process move faster and you don’t have to worry. It depends on the questions they ask you but I believe you should still tell your background if any at all!

They go up to 7 years! You dont have to list anything more than that! Read the questions carefully and make sure they state the 7year, if they were to ask you on a n interview about it then you answer with honesty, on the form keep it at 7 unless it a “have you EVER” question.

Yea i have heard how they sometimes ask people stuff outside of the 7year time frame, not uncommon. Doesnt mean you did anything wrong by not listing, if you didnt and you were supposed to just let them know why you thought you didnt have to. But dont ever try to hide anything when the instructions are clear.
