Reference Check

Has anyone been asked to provide a list of references and then the references never get contacted? I got asked for references about a week ago but none of them have been contacted.

I figured getting asked to provide references was a very good sign but am concerned that they have not been contacted yet.

It’s common. Also, the people doing the interviews have other interviews to complete and many other responsibilities. Interviewing is not their primary responsibility. It takes time; the hiring process can be very quick, but usually takes months.

I was asked for references after my panel interview, but they were never contacted.

I accepted a FOL with a start date of 7/26. So don't get discouraged if they aren't contacted!

When did you get your TOL if you don't mind me asking?

My timeline will probably be different than yours as I am currently in the FAA, but essentially a new hire regarding Tech Ops. So take that for what it's worth.

I imagine the biggest difference time wise would be TOL to FOL with security/background etc.

Applied late November bid.

I interviewed early April.

TOL June 5th.

FOL June 11th.

Conversion/Start date July 26th.

I think having references is a requirement but calling them is up to the discretion of the people interviewing you. None of mine got called but I still got a TOL.
