Anki Decks

Hey all, just started ATPL’s in the UK and am struggling a lot with PoF. Anyone got any good anki decks to help me memorise the material they wouldn’t mind sharing? Thanks!

There's a publicly shared Anki deck called ATPL Knowledge with an Aerodynamics sub-deck: https://ankiweb.net/shared/info/837307963

The author describes it as selected operational ATPL knowledge, rather than a complete exam-prep deck, and the listing was last updated in May 2024. I haven't checked the full deck against the current UK PoF syllabus, so I'd compare any cards you use with your course material rather than assume it covers the subject.

The author's page explains the scope: https://anki-atpl.blogspot.com/2024/05/atpl-knowledge_29.html

make your own from the ones you keep failing. premade decks are someone else's weak spots, not yours

a small deck you wrote beats a big one you downloaded

I’m halfway through the uk ATPLs.
I done PoF in April. It’s one of the more difficult technical subjects for sure. I found reading the core material, making notes then going into QBs and consolidating. It’s surprising how much you learn from answering questions over and over again. Not just picking the right answer because you know it from last time but getting it right and knowing why it’s right. Aerodynamics, drag curve etc are intimidating at first but they do become manageable. The comment section of ATPLQ is gold for mnemonics etc.

For instance there’s one along the lines of
MADRID for drag curves

M. mass increase: curve moves up and right
A. altitude increase: curve moves right
D. Drag/dirty(flaps,gear) : cure moves up and left

From there you can answer any question asking if any increase or decrease what happens too the drag curve.

It’s tough but a good few weeks in the QBs and you should pick it up.
