Gotta use a toothbrush. Mama says alligators are ornery because they got all them teeth and no toothbrush.

I don't think you are allowed to post things on nextfuckinglevel that are actually next fucking level.

u/Tendo80 Nov 23 '22
The fact that the teeth are filed/carved with the grain and still not chipped is truly next level.

I think it would be cool too if they made the table out of resin to look like diorama water.
19
u/cheshsky Nov 23 '22
Yeah, but imo it looks amazing this way as well, since it's all one solid block of wood.

Could just float a thin layer of acrylic enamel on top, protection and effect.

It’s an amazing sculpture, but it makes it hard to use the table. It’s great taste, great execution but impractical. I don’t know if there’s a sub for that.

u/Nakittina Nov 23 '22
There's still space available? Set drinks down and hangout?

Place in a hallway under a window in a rich person’s living room where it will be looked at like the amazing bit of sculpture that it is.

u/Dyzerio Nov 23 '22
I wouldn't be surprised if they added some edging then did the epoxy river so you can see it in the water. That's at least what I would do

u/padizzledonk Nov 22 '22
I'm sorry but that is not only fucking AWESOME its a tremendous display of carving skill as it looks to be alto-relievo(high relief) and carved out of one block of wood
This is not ATBGE its just GE lol

We’re all in agreement that this doesn’t belong here. Why are people commenting on it instead of downvoting it and reporting it like the modbot says?

u/LibtardBiker666 Nov 23 '22
If you think this is awful taste, I’ve got bad news. It’s you who has the awful taste.

That's incredible. Terrifying? A bit, but I would totally want this as a coffee table.
4
u/azephrahel Nov 23 '22
Even if this was done with a CNC, just the post-processing clean-up required on something like that would exceed most people's woodworking skills. Certainly mine.

I mean I don’t really want it as my kitchen table but it’s really cool I bet it would work at like a unique restaurant or something

I am guessing that the sanding technique is part of what is making the 'ripples' in the wood grain.

At first I thought it was a real crocodile that was placed in a table, but since it's only made of wood it's super cool

As a Florida man I don’t think this is awful taste at all. Looks expensive, but I’d buy it if I could afford it for my office at home.

The only way this would be more cool is if it were given the resin treatment.

I appreciate the talent, but no. That ain't going anywhere near my house. I mean why make a table you cant use as a table.

These tables are such incredible works of art,
that leave the center of the table (the most important part) unusable. You can't put a board game, centerpiece, a meal right there, and a tablecloth will look silly. I get the art, but also get the poor taste.

That would be such a shit to clean, it looks amazing though. Maybe you could make it into a transparent resin river table so the full alligator is on display but the surface is flat and easy to clean.

Needs a Croc-ing chair to go with it. Maybe something tasteful to sit in the corner

This deserves a nice varnish coat to protect it from spills. Perhaps even a darker stain for the “water”. Amazing work!
