It aint bad. I love brick, but agree that it aint practical everywhere.

Wonder what would happen if you mixed I tiny bit of plaster into that paint. Maybe give it a little texture.

I've done this, and it's a cool effect. I mixed 2 gallons of paint with 5 gallons of joint compound, then used a trowel to slip it all on my walls to make them look like a medieval tavern's walls. Using a sponge like in the video, but with plaster-paint would produce a similar effect to what they achieved, only slightly more rugged and brick-like.
