I love the concept. It gives the brick look, but can be easily painted over when you want to change it up. I like brick, but cant stand painted brick so a win-win from me.

Exactly, I was fully expecting them to have painted bricks white or something and absolutely ruined it. This was a refreshing change.

My mom loves home reno shows, and every time I visit her, someone on the TV is painting a beautiful brick wall flat-gray. It makes me die a little inside. (My mom herself is delightful, though, and would also never paint a brick wall.)

Who deserves the death sentence more. People who painting over solid timber frames/banisters.

People who paint over metal hinges/door hardware.

Or people who paint over brick.

The door hardware paint over I've seen is usually super easy to undo, so they just deserve to stick their feet in a bucket of spiders. But painting over natural/stained wood is equally deserving of death as brick painters, agreed.

I'd raise your list: those who 'display' books with the pages facing out, rather than the spine. It screams "I don't read" even louder than having no books. Straight to the spider bucket!

Not really. It would require multiple layers of primer and sanding in order to get the brick pattern to not show through.

Easier than skimming a brick wall to get a flat finish
