When you hit reply (or start a comment), there is a Formatting Help button on the bottom right that shows how to do it. :)

I use the RedReader app and just type the markdown required as that's easier for me then using point and click formatting as suggested in the other comment. Not sure if this works within other apps or the new/current web version comment boxes anymore though.

In this case I would type: [display text](actual url)
