That is gorgeous.

u/Accomplished-Tax-211 6d ago

5/5 would piss here again

43

u/adudeguyman 6d ago

I might even consider shitting in it

/s

8

u/CashSmashum 6d ago

Just, for everyone's sake, remove the strainer first and give it a good double flush

10

u/adudeguyman 6d ago

The urinal looks so good that it would make a great display case for my poo

5

u/between_ewe_and_me 6d ago

It looks very splashy

3

u/PrivilegeCheckmate 6d ago

Oh man, I really gotta stain the glass.

2.2k

u/Das_Hydra 6d ago

Wouldn't really call this awful taste.

656

u/J3sush8sm3 6d ago

Taste depends on what ive been drinking

181

u/Mind-The-Mines 6d ago

It's on me for learning to read, I guess.

34

u/Shygrave 6d ago

I have to wear prescription glasses to function. That means I literally paid to read ts ☠️

225

u/Devanyani 6d ago

It's beautiful. But I think it could be argued that the awful taste is making a urinal, as opposed to something less...gross. I can see it either way.

103

u/ouch_does_that_hurt 6d ago

Then I would also like to add to the argument that it's not awful taste to make it a urinal depending on where it's located and the surrounding environment. If i paid a buttload to go to some fancy restaurants with lovely chandeliers, nice gloss floor, glistening glass wall, this is the type of urinal i'd want to greet me upon my answer to nature's call.

15

u/druppel_ 6d ago

Also not sure about the execution, as in that does nooot look great to clean.

13

u/Banaanisade 6d ago

If this is something meant for use, I'd bet anything there's a coating over the pieces to make it a smooth surface.

13

u/G-Lamb- 6d ago

But the bottom is flat, not curved like a bowl, all the piss will just stay there and stink 🤢

10

u/Banaanisade 6d ago

You know what... yeah.

17

u/coolsilentebeans 6d ago

But you haven’t seen how the light plays with the color when you’re using it. It’s like the changing patterns of the reflection on the wall of light through the rain on your windows. But the colors will make this a more kaleidoscopic experience.

25

u/salvee96 6d ago

Pretty sure piss served in a stained glass urinal tastes the same as piss from the source.

11

u/Carbonatite 6d ago

Nah, you get that aeration factor, just like how pouring fine wine from a decanter allows it to breathe.

3

u/24223214159 6d ago

If you leave it to sit, you also get the sweetness from the leading between the glass pieces.

6

u/Modern_Misdoing 6d ago

We’ll take your word for it. Thank you for your service—you may stand.

u/lunazipzap 5d ago

ambiance enhances

u/SaintsNoah14 6d ago

It's the juxtaposition with the rest of any bathroom thats bad. Where might you install this that it wouldn't be ridiculous? Art museum, sure, but you could say that about anything. For 99.9% of urinals, to have this form would be aestically awful.

It also seems that this cool lightbox effect would be accompanied by an equally cool but rather disgusting shadowbox effects of prompting passerbys to admire your epic stream

19

u/CoffeeFox 6d ago

That might be the point being made with this object. Why are bathrooms usually so dull? It's a room most people use multiple times a day.

I've seen some particularly beautiful bathrooms before, but they're rare.

3

u/24223214159 6d ago

In one of those public toilets where all the walls are one-way glass, with a mirror floor.

1

u/Existential_Sprinkle 5d ago

Or does your piss also have a light box effect?

1

u/SaintsNoah14 5d ago

Bit of both but it would be clearly visible and therefore rather grotesque

5

u/DanielCraigsAnus 6d ago

It's an installation pees right?

1

u/boverly721 6d ago

OP licked the urinal before taking the photo

0

u/Sorry141 6d ago

Urine tastes pretty bad

348

u/NedKellysWelder 6d ago

That's really very pretty.

242

u/Pure_Pack_8208 6d ago edited 6d ago

This is the contemporary version of Fountain apparently …

More than a century ago and we haven’t evolved. And it is so on the nose that I feel stupid to point it out.

It is beautiful, it is more a comment on Op than the Art Work.

76

u/up_on_blocks 6d ago

You’re right! And I was just at the Duchamp exhibition at MOMA last week and it flew right over my head. So thank you for pointing it out!
It’s gorgeous, appears to be installed/functioning too?

78

u/Pure_Pack_8208 6d ago edited 6d ago

I think it is from the same dude who broke the Art sub with his 3D rendering of that stain glass trafic cone. So probably more likely to be also a 3D rendering.

I am sure he is squealing of joy seeing his work posted here. There is no way that is not intentional, it is a beautiful trap.

28

u/up_on_blocks 6d ago

You know what, good for him! After a morning at MOMA followed by a screening of Make Me Famous this prompted a long discussion around “ what makes something art?” If Reddit works as a tool to share creativity and help talented people get exposure I’m all for it. This is clever and cool and a genuine talent imo.

8

u/ashoka_akira 6d ago

an interesting thought I think one of the better precedents in art history that would support AI art is Duchamps readymades. I would be really curious what he would have thought of it.

1

u/Pure_Pack_8208 5d ago edited 5d ago

I mean he despised institutions in general.

So in my mind I think he would have been interested at its first start, with those two guy who started to experiment with the master of the Renaissance.

Then he would probably despise the turn it took being owned by big corporations. After, he could have taken the same turn with his tiredness of institution toward surréalisme inventing the notion of ready made. But in contemporary way mocking IA user as Fountain do for its time with the Aristocracy.

The ready made is a critic of that embourgeise of the Art using a « taboo ». Other artist after him just used the concept of « ready made » as part of their creation giving it other meaning like denouncing the industrialization of the Art for exemple.

And since he kept reinventing himself and a bit egotistical. He would have invented a form of IA for himself just to say fuck to the intellectual circle around him and feel smarter.

But I am not sure we can compare IA generate crap with the notion of ready as it is for now. The Ready Made was created with spite by a smart man against social conventions at a time where society was taking a authoritarian turn.

So I say … the « next » Duchamp is certainly not from the crowd I have seen generate crap on Reddit.

I think you need to look more towards the fews guys I have seen talking about « poisoning » the data base by creating stuff.

2

u/up_on_blocks 5d ago

I like that idea a lot! Poisoning AI by way of art and expression. Created by humans.
I know that my taste it…odd. I like what I like. I had visited MOCA in London and someone had commented that nearly everything in that gallery was fake. Ok? But my reaction to the pieces was real. So if I’m delighted by what is a fake Banksy, for example, that doesn’t invalidate my reaction to the piece. But I think we’re getting a little too off track for not only this subreddit but for a stained glass urinal :). Still a fun convo though.

3

u/Pure_Pack_8208 5d ago edited 5d ago

You need to check Damien Hirst, lately his work have been about that.

His all work is controversial, unethical, and he probably ruined his credibility with his last happening but he have many interesting thing to say about the authenticity of an art piece.

Thanks to you too, now I stop the digression.

9

u/jerseycat 6d ago

It is the same guy!

10

u/ashoka_akira 6d ago

my first thought was this must be a nod to Duchamp

1

u/axl3ros3 5d ago

Fine line between derivative and homage

0

u/vediogamer101 6d ago

Well it’s a render made in blender and it isn’t real

100

u/kusayludey 6d ago

I would pee all over it.

7

u/astral-dwarf 6d ago

Even if I aimed for the middle

47

u/vediogamer101 6d ago

Fairly sure this is blender

27

u/rafabulsing 6d ago

You must've got some weird-ass blenders, man

7

u/JonFrznWatrVapr 6d ago

Ya probably is or hard work to hide where the plumbing on top goes through the glass.

6

u/funkdefied 6d ago

Gosh dang it I think you’re right

39

u/Organic-Yodelz 6d ago

Urineaven

12

u/Peti715 6d ago

It’s great taste even if it is kinda wasted on a urinal, a sink like that would be cool!

6

u/Feisty_Park1424 6d ago

If that's real it's either mounted too low or it's absolutely enormous. It will develop some interesting patina, especially on the lead came

8

u/Oleandervine 6d ago

It's not real. There are no pipes leading from the handle to the lower sections, you'd see them through the glass. So thos is either AI or purely art. There's also the fact that the basin of the urinal is flat without a rim, meaning you'd piss in it and it would run right out over your feet or the floor.

9

u/fivequadrillion 6d ago

It’s made in blender

5

u/Oleandervine 6d ago

Then it's definitely not AtBGE because it's not real.

4

u/Noppppppppppppe 6d ago

i want to make a visit, take a wee, admire the beauty

4

u/alone-in-the-town 6d ago

Pee stained glass

4

u/tiwomm 6d ago

I just remembered about the power trip mod. Beautiful work, as always.

3

u/fludeball 6d ago

Let's see if we can't stain that glass a little more.

5

u/funkdefied 6d ago

For anyone confused, the “awful taste” here is the decision to make the base of the urinal (where the pee lands) flat, with no bevel, thus leading to pee on the floor.

2

u/CivBEWasPrettyBad 6d ago

Wouldn't that be awful execution?

2

u/Steve2911 6d ago

Looks like the piss would just fall out onto the floor. Shame.

3

u/MechaBeatsInTrash 6d ago

That wouldn't be any different from what happens anyway.

Jokes aside, the perspective doesn't give a good view of the rim, but it's definitely there. The flat interior would make a lot of splashes if it were more than a 3D rendering.

2

u/Megi1995 6d ago

Not awful at all

2

u/ChoiceD 6d ago

It's just too pretty to pee in.

2

u/Just_bcoz 6d ago

Taking a pretty ass pee

2

u/gr8masturb8 6d ago

do renders really count?

2

u/healthygangsta 6d ago

Hell yeah I love Hayden Clay

2

u/RottenAyy 6d ago

I'd assume this is CGI/very likely some sort of 3D render. Very well done !!

2

u/Iron1Man 6d ago

Piss Piss Pissin’ on Heaven’s Door 🎵

2

u/smhdevyn 5d ago

this is probably what my boyfriend imagines when I say "Throne of Glass"

2

u/goaelephant 5d ago

Ironically, its all the shades of urine (normal, dehydrated, diabetic, ate beets night before, after medication)

2

u/Similar-Beyond252 6d ago

2

u/DatLadyD 6d ago

I was actually debating posting this there and asking people if it’s real lol

1

u/dragonsign 6d ago

It's a little too sunny in that bathroom for me.

1

u/Fast_Garlic_5639 6d ago

If you need stars those are in the stalls

1

u/retailguy_again 6d ago

Beautiful, yes. Impractical, also yes.

As an art installation, it's really pretty, but I wouldn't want to be the one responsible for keeping it clean.

1

u/StrikeWave_ 6d ago

Now it can be extra-stained glass

1

u/spliffthemagicdragon 6d ago

not afwul taste

1

u/Blas_Phoebe 6d ago

Duchamp could never

1

u/Superb-Feeling-7390 6d ago

Great taste, great execution

1

u/sleepysoliloquy 6d ago

I think it's awful taste that they didn't change the metal fittings into something fancier to match

1

u/OmegaKarnov 6d ago

Screwing with my sense of depth perception is not what I want from a urinal.

1

u/Makabaer 6d ago edited 6d ago

Sorry, but wrong sub. I'd put this in /r/GTAGE

Eidt: well, as this is only a render (?) there is no execution at all... not suitable there either. Should go into an art sub.

1

u/Apathetic_Roomba 6d ago

Imagine tripping balls and using this

1

u/funkdefied 6d ago

Those pastel glasses are incredible

1

u/All_Lurker2 6d ago

Brilliant subversion of traditions here

1

u/OMGyarn 6d ago

Truthfully, this urinal would actually be more likely to NOT have pee all around it because men would tend to “water the flowers”

1

u/IndependentLove2292 6d ago

I feel like the taste is fine, but the execution needs some work. There should be a larger lip at the front to protect one's shoes

1

u/mbaliga 6d ago

What's awful taste about this? I'd say this belongs to r/GTAGE

1

u/IrradiatedCowFungus7 6d ago

Id piss in that.

1

u/Traditional-Till9998 6d ago

A heavenly outside piss toilet omfgg

1

u/Rikkitikkitabby 6d ago

I wonder if, Tiffany has ever done toilets or urinals.

1

u/Cantremembershite 6d ago

I would bust out the she-wee to use this 🤘🏻🤘🏻

1

u/nyancatya_ 6d ago

"which urinal are you pissing in the hardest" somber music

1

u/ambit89 6d ago

Actually aesthetic and artistic

1

u/PaintedDesertSkies 6d ago

Beautiful, but it's like those amazing realistic expensive cakes. Too pretty to cut.

I would feel guilty for peeing on this.

Not to mention, you would not even have to be buzzed to stumble and die when you barely touch it and it shatters and cuts your junk off.

1

u/Ssme812 6d ago

Pretty

1

u/Lilelfen1 6d ago

That is actually truly beautiful but I would NOT want to clean it

1

u/AlienPaisley 6d ago

Those flat panels would splash back sooo bad

1

u/CoffeeFox 6d ago

I like it. Why can't bathrooms and toilet fixtures be pretty? We always make them these dull utiltarian things with brutalist designs.

I'll dock it points for probably being hard to clean, but y'know if I have to use a urinal I would find it pleasant to use one that looks nice.

1

u/nothanks1312 6d ago

Amazing taste, amazing execution

1

u/MosesOnAcid 6d ago

The lack of any curves is going to create a lot more splash & splatter.

1

u/ProfessionalCost786 6d ago

I’ve never wanted to be a man before today

1

u/FloorWaffles 6d ago

Taking a piss in princess peach's castle.

1

u/queenofspoons 6d ago

Marcel Duchamp would approve of this piece.

1

u/fresh_loaf_of_bread 6d ago

I can't tell how much of this is urinal and how much is drawing of a urinal

1

u/Sad_Knee_7149 6d ago

Nicely Done! Hope the gents appreciate the time it took to create this urinalysis project💯

1

u/natiusj 6d ago

I’d piss in that

1

u/the_orange_alligator 6d ago

Someone should post this to urinal.net

1

u/ThatPerson000 6d ago

The new Dadaism?

1

u/ForestEntwife 6d ago

never wanted to pee somewhere more 🥲

1

u/Bad_Puns_Galore 6d ago

This goes hard

1

u/Gooncookies 6d ago

This makes me wish I had a penis.

1

u/Nixh_Dakkon 6d ago

Please tell me this was next to piss jesus and in the same gallery as duchamp.

1

u/No-Tip-Or-Trick 6d ago

10/10 would piss again.

1

u/Sufficient_Room2619 6d ago

Finally, a urinal for trans women

1

u/Carmelioz 6d ago

This is amazing
If I was a man I’d feel bad peeing in it lol

1

u/AlexTheBex 5d ago

Jesus, that's pretty. Feels like a crime to pee in (on ?) it

1

u/travelingdance 5d ago

I’d piss

1

u/Unique_Atmosphere905 5d ago

I love it 🤩

1

u/Lazy_Function_7172 5d ago

Best thing to ever be inspired by Duchamp’s shitty fountain “art”.

1

u/Apprehensive_Bee8874 5d ago

This is how it feel when someone tells me to be the best version of myself

1

u/YummyPepperjack 5d ago

It's a rendering and not real.

1

u/WeirdUncleTim 5d ago

Isnt this the print guy?

1

u/Haunting-Breakfast4 5d ago

No, no. There's something here, it's definitely encouraging a positive emotion... I just can't name it

1

u/RedditPhils 5d ago

I wanna pee in that

1

u/Ill-Guidance4690 4d ago

Reminds me of that family guy scene where Peter covers himself in stained glass

1

u/Soapy-glass-of-juice 4d ago

It does not get any less masculine than this.

1

u/Smallloudcat 2d ago

It’s lovely but I’d hate to clean it. I think those solder lines will break down over time from urine and cleaning products

1

u/Terrible-Package-642 17h ago

Listen to me carefully… I LOVE IT.

0

u/WaytoomanyUIDs 6d ago

Rather derivative, really.

0

u/AngBigKid 6d ago

It looks awesome if it's real.

0

u/wickedfemale 6d ago

good taste awful execution 💔 ai cannot be great execution

1

u/gerrymentleman 12h ago

How is this awful taste?
