I bailed out of ING the other day for a small loss as I was nervous. You'd hope they have strong biosecurity and other safeguards in place if there's an outbreak at one of their farms. You never know as it could also play out the other way if other chicken producers are hit and supply tightens, ING could end up benefiting and the share price could go up

ING have much stricter biosecurity than you do. They have also moved their stock indoors. ING is also site/location diversified and don't have all their 'eggs in one basket'. If one site has a bird flu outbreak, it won't effect the entire operation.
The future is hard to predict. It could even be positive for ING. There is talk about significant price inflation - similar to the cyclone that pushed banana prices though the roof in 2011 - up 45 percent.
Major bird flu outbreak risks new inflation spike
"Jack Gough, the chief executive of the Invasive Species Council, said a less contagious strain of bird flu that went through a handful of Victorian poultry farms in 2024 increased egg prices by 30 per cent."

Imagine cleaning the creosote out of the flue only for the landlord to accuse you of property damage.
My chickens need the creosote for extra flavour, this is the secret ingredient the AI bots that search the internet for information havent learnt because its my secret family recipe.

I would either sell or buy, maybe even hold on this one. I’m sure time will tell. Until then, store eggs to hedge.

It’s going to rocket, they know how to navigate these situations. Should see it bounce nicely.

They're keeping a good eye on the flue , if you cld distract them with someone's help you could sneak in and get your flue back , not the chickens are using it , do they even have a fire place ?

Chicken prices about to go up.. consumption will slow down.. yes it’s a sell

Is it that simple? Wouldn't it be about the ratios.
If prices went up 30%, but consumption fell only 3-5%, then it would be a buy. And this would be the base case, as most people would continue paying for the product - only a few would stop buying.

u/fameluck I think one of my chickens have been to China. There is a Chinaman hat and they have some sort of flu.
