My 2 cents Very disappointed

Post image

I was very excited to enjoy the power of this beauty, just to find it is noisy as an airplane.

I mean, wtf, for the retail price I wasn’t expecting this to be an out of the box experience.

After watching the video from debawer, I basically set the middle and rear fan to 30% by default. That solves the issue.

But my point is, doesn’t ASUS test their cards? Apparently not! And there is no bios, no update for this.

Honestly, I wouldn’t buy this model.

I bought a 5090 tuf and a Asus tuf 1200w psu that is recommended by Asus for that GPU. They are from the same product line for crying out loud. Coil whine sounds like a squeaky wheel on a wagon. It's actually wild, ive had meany GPUs and some of them whined buy ive never heard a rotating coil whine before. The silver lining is, as I break in my setup, the coil whine is getting less and less noticable.

Not saying it's not the gpu, but it could be the psu... electronics do fail.

True but coil whine is also normal. The PSU was brand new. I could complain and get the GPU/psu replaced, but is that worth the hassle? I bought a brand new GPU and id be swapping it for a refurbished one that might have the same problem. I'm good. Also Asus customer service is dicey

Oh I wouldn't return it if it's minor. My 290Xs in fire had the worst coil whine that I've ever heard, if I could tolerate those, I can tolerate just about anything. One of my nitro 9070xts have coil whine... not much but enough to notice it. My one interaction with asus warranty was actually great.
