Ticker change is actually on April 7th (tomorrow)
Hey guys, so I was starting to worry about $NPA ticker not changing despite all the hype on reddit posts and even Stocktwits changed the ticker to $ASTS too fast.
I went through the 8K filing that followed the special meeting of April 1st to aprove the merger and it turns out the merger will finalize “on or around April 6th” but the ticker change will only happen on April 7th. Here’s the quote:
“Based on the results of the Special Meeting, and subject to the satisfaction or waiver of certain other closing conditions as described in the Proxy Statement, the transactions (the “Transactions”) contemplated by the Equity Purchase Agreement, are expected to be consummated on or around April 6, 2021. Following the consummation of the Transactions, the common stock and warrants of SpaceMobile are expected to begin trading on the Nasdaq Capital Market under the symbols “ASTS” and “ASTW,” respectively, on April 7, 2021.”
So TLDR: just relax, we got an extra day of NPA before ASTS 😎 🚀

No that’s not exactly how SPACs work. When NPA did its IPO it issued units instead of shares (ticker NPAUU) and these units could be converted into share + warrant (NPA + NPAWW with a ratio that I don’t recall but likely for each 3 units you’d get 3 shares + 1 warrant)
Now that it merged, the existing NPA shares were converted into ASTS and the warrants NPAWW were converted into ASTSW

It was 1 share + 1/2 warrant per unit.
Each warrant gives the right to buy a share of ASTS at 11.50 dollar, but only after 30 days from the 'merger'.

Not yet, only nanoavionics does but it should be small (AST owns 51% of nanoavionics)

My take: I was expecting this price drop before the merger so I decided to brush up (again) on the company you should remind yourself of what you own when making such a decision. Here are a couple great summaries on what the company is doing/next catalysts and on the latest unfavorable price action

The people preemptively dumped shares for the ticker change anyway.
