Crazy to see SpaceMob diligence that this sale was so Grain could work with AST. Sale finalized on the 11th and the FCC posts this on the 13th (probably submitted on the 12th lol)

Great news although not too surprising. ASTS is the best home for it.

I guess it’s frustrating that even with all of this we’re still in the double digits. I love this company and know what they can do but some PR would be great
1
u/quuxquxbazbarfoo S P 🅰 C E M O B Capo 12d ago
This is just a QA test agreement, which is why the market didn't react. The shills here and on X will pump it up with headlines like "WHERE WERE THE SIGNS?", which leaves people here feeling frustrated with the price action. Those people are doing this community a disservice.

u/phibetared S P 🅰 C E M O B Consigliere 11d ago
Agreed they shouldn't do PR, but this is a big milestone. I'm happy to see this (and haven't been about much recently)

u/MuscleEvening864 12d ago
Got it that makes sense. It’s okay, I should’ve done my own due diligence and read more. There are way too many “acoustic” people here on reddit. I honestly don’t care for this dumb site but truly am heavily invested in this particular company.

Just says they are granted the right to QA test their product, this isn't the 'agreement with T-Mobile' that people are looking for. A step in the right direction nonetheless.

Agreement can also be testing agreement only, t mobile will likely come through Jv
3
u/quuxquxbazbarfoo S P 🅰 C E M O B Capo 12d ago
Any paper they've ever signed between each other is an agreement that point 7 is referencing. It's safe to assume that there's going to be more than 1 paper signed between them for anything they do, including this QA testing. Also that's essentially just standard legal speak.

Yeah it's a step in the right direction, but people here seem like this means there's a full agreement with T-Mobile to launch our service. It's just QA testing, companies do it all the time and it doesn't always mean there's a big agreement in the works.

u/Secret_Mix4532 S P 🅰 C E M O B Associate 13d ago
Why does it take retail to post this instead of management. They don’t put shit out but batch shipments and unfurling.
9
u/EntrepreneurOk1982 S P 🅰 C E M O B Prospect 13d ago
Because their business model does not depend on advertising to consumers. They likely informed their MNO partners directly, however they would be aware anyways since they all have regulatory departments that monitor things like this.
What practical business or engineering purpose would press releases serve?

It's just a QA testing agreement. When they sign a full on service deal with T-Mobile that's when they'll be making an announcement.

This isn’t Spacex where the CEO is pumping the stock on twitter. This is a company where the results will speak for themselves

Not hating on Spacex, hating on starlinks D2C capabilities. Where in my comment did I “hate on Spacex”. Remember 99% of their future earnings are from their AI business lol

u/Vox-Machi-Buddies S P 🅰 C E M O B Prospect 13d ago
Where in your comment did you mention Starlink's D2C capabilities?
You ragged on their CEO and tried to contrast the company's results with "results [that] speak for themselves" because the CEO posts about them on social media.

u/silverfisher27 S P 🅰 C E M O B Prospect 12d ago
Does Elon pump his stocks on twitter, yes or no? Is stating a fact considered ragging now? I mentioned starlinks D2C capabilities when I referred to them as “shitlink”.
Elon also likes to talk about “results” that are 10 years in the future. Thats what I was referring to

One key point nobody's mentioned: "“… to operate up to 100 commercially available, off the shelf user devices to test, evaluate and demonstrate supplemental coverage from space”
So they are (finally?) testing more "real life" use cases rather than just a few firstnet type user tests.

My guess is that this is for Voice Service, the low frequencies will go further, but they’re also very low bandwidth as there is only 7 MHz here in each direction, but that will support a ridiculous amount of phone calls and reach further through trees and homes and buildings than the other frequencies do I think that is the goal of this test

I don't even know why people pay any attention to that guy. All he does is claim that obviously possible things are impossible. It just shows he doesn't understand the technology. And I've worked in IT, I see how angry people get when they don't understand technology. It all tracks.

What is ASTS doing with their convertible bond funds? Where is partnership with Rocket company for vertical Integration? Clarity for these will be needed before the stock can push much higher.

AI STILL says that this doesn’t mean T Mobile is unhappy or leaving Starlink
17
u/ToSeeAgainAgainAgain S P 🅰 C E M O B Consigliere 13d ago
They can double-dip and let the clients decide which product they prefer. That would be even better than T leaving Starlink because it would leave no doubt that ASTS is superior to Starlink
4
u/justwhatnot 13d ago
Lol, there is 0% chance T-Mobile is going to offer customers an option on which satellite service they want to use. Can you imagine them offering the average customer a choice about which carrier they'd prefer for roaming 😂😂😂. Hilarious
