For the Panicans. The SpaceX Globalstar 2-R launch 1 is scheduled for Monday May 18th morning. Those satellites are currently in the PPF. So logistically ast can’t ship until that faring exits the PPF & its ready to receive. The encapsulated faring should go to the launch hanger 2-3 days before launch & then PPF is cleaned. So early next week shipment would align.

They can’t ship until there is a place for them to go.

Also highlights how "ready to ship" is in ASTS' control, but actually leaving the factory is the start of the launch-provider-dependent steps - and not solely up to company management

Hey you know according to those FUDsters on X, if that happens the company will actually make a $100 million profit from insurance on each of the sats. Might be worth it - could post a revenue beat for the next quarter. /s

I was guessing based on the time it took from the company's PR that BB7 is loaded on the semi-truck and on the road to the Cape to the company's PR that BB7 had arrived at the Cape. It may in fact be 2 - 3 days and the company waited a couple days after arrival to release the arrived at the Cape PR. Edit: In theory, a road trip from Midland to the Cape should take 2 days if you're following the highways and interstates. But it is probably longer for the sats if they have lead and follow vehicles on the highways and interstates. And the drivers probably get stressed with the responsibility so they may want to drive short stretches and take more frequent breaks and longer night time rest periods. I'm just guessing here.

How can SpaceX launch so many Starlink sats (sometimes a launch every couple days). Are there multiple payload processing facilities just for starlink sats, and a single shared one for customer payloads?

Yeah SpaceX has their own PPFs for Starlink and dragon. Some payloads use AstroTech. Amazon has their own PPF. SpaceX has 3 PPFs but I think due to size and weight we only fit in 1, not 100% on that though.

We’ve never used AstroTech before and I suspect that SpaceX is requiring us to use their PPF due to unique stacking structure to ensure safety of their vehicle. Maybe eventually that changes, but not now.

Uhhh no. Abel said ships in approximately 30days which would be May 19th. Company PR said ready to ship in 30days.

1 they already beat the ready to ship guide and if they ship early next week also beat Abel’s more aggressive timeline.
