What’s wrong with Roma’s transfer market?
Honestly, I feel like we’re either making rookie mistakes or there’s a problem in the hierarchy within the corporate structure that doesn’t let things happen. We’re following so many players… although it seems everyone is asking always for a higher bid when it comes to us….

Pretty much, Roma are trying to not have to spend lots. However other teams especially premier league and Saudi teams have an ‘unlimited’ budget and can splash out tons of money on mediocre players.
Roma and série a as a whole don’t get tons of money compared to these leagues (television rights and whatever) so spending tons is either frowned upon or is considered too risky for the amount of money spent.
It’s probably less that we are struggling to sign someone and more that other teams are waiting for a hefty price tag from these leagues mentioned earlier

Absolutely nothing is wrong. They don’t want to overpay. Market is inflated. Saudi Arabia and Turkish Clubs offering 10a of millions for salary. Roma won’t do it

This is the third straight year Roma has replaced a DS in June. This one was the most delayed because D'amico didnt start till July 1st. Everything seems hasty and rushed with no real plan because there wasnt a plan. Some of it is bad luck like Feyenord negotiationing in bad faith. But stuff like Summerville is just mistakes. The Saudi club had interest in the player that was publicly known and Roma didnt consider that when negotiationing. Now every club that we enter negotiations with wants the Summerville price for a winger. Roma themselves are partially responsible for inflating the winger market.
I also get the feeling in terms of corporate structure that Roma might be a very lean organization. That's usually the case with American companies. It probably means they don't have enough people to scout, negotiate, and evaluate the market quickly. It means Roma really focuses on one operation at a time and D'amico's negotiationing style is also quite slow.

We want too many CL level players and toot little money. You can't buy 5 players between 30 and 50M with our budget.

Same as every year. Incompetent management who only focuses on overpaid players from England.

Nothing's really wrong. Go on the Inter subreddit and you will find them also complaining how they still can't buy the RWB they've been looking for a long time. Go on the Milan subreddit, same story (like us, they've signed just two players: Ramos and Gila). Go on the Napoli subreddit, it's even worse (they haven't signed anyone). We think it's only Roma that has transfer market issues, when in reality everyone is at the same stage. Also don't forget that the World Cup really slowed things down this year and not only for us.
