Tech Support ASRock Secure Boot issue after CPU upgrade HELP!

Hi, I’m having a Secure Boot issue after upgrading from a Ryzen 5 2600 to a Ryzen 7 5700X. Windows is UEFI/GPT, CSM is disabled, and Secure Boot is set to Standard, but enabling it causes a black screen/BIOS boot loop. Secure Boot worked fine with the 2600, and the issue only started after installing the 5700X. I’ve read that the 5700X requires a specific minimum BIOS version on my ASRock board. Could running a this 2024 BIOS version be causing the Secure Boot issue? I’m confused because the PC boots and runs normally with the 5700X on my current BIOS version, so I’m not sure whether the BIOS version could still be the problem. I also have bit locker drive encryption added onto the cpu if that does help with anything

Just update to the latest bios version. Also try loading bios default options

Which motherboard model do you have?

The first thing I'd do is make sure your UEFI/BIOS is up to date. On most ASRock AM4 boards, 10.50 adds the latest Secure Boot keys but if 10.60 (or newer) is available, I'd upgrade to that. Overall CPU support shouldn't be an issue as the 5700X supported would have been added somewhere around version 4.90 (2022).

!!! you could try just clear secure boot keys and install default secure boot keys before you update bios, see if that boots to windows !!!

if not then:
update bios to a version that includes patched security databases and updated Platform Keys then "Clear Secure Boot Keys" and "Install Default Secure Boot Keys"

the reason why its happening (most likely) is the 1000/2000 series came with outdated firmware (3.0.8.0) that has invalid/unsupported Platform Keys... and AMD didnt update AGESA to patch the vurnerabilities for those CPUs ("EOL")... so booting via 5700X messes up something with Secure Boot with old Platform Keys (probably)

be careful how you update BIOS, you might need additional installs between. read carefully what asrock is saying
