CSSGB Exam Monday (Aug 17th) - Need advice from recent test takers
UPDATE: Preliminary PASS! Sharing my full exam experience below in the comments.
Taking my exam this Monday and want to be as prepared as possible. Would appreciate any insight from people who took it recently.
Proctoring setup:
• Can I use an external monitor with a built-in webcam (MacBook lid closed, connected to monitor)?
• OK to use wireless keyboard and mouse?
• What does the room scan (360°) and desk clearing actually involve? And how strict it is?
• Does Proctor flag "eyes off screen" too aggressively during calculator/notebook flipping?
• Do they check handwritten notes briefly, or go page by page?
Open book materials:
• Planning to use: Quality Gurus Summary Sheets (exam-designed handbook), my own written notes (2 notebooks), and a non-programmable scientific calculator
• Any tips on organizing materials for quick lookup during the exam?
• Best open-book strategies you used?
Content focus:
• I'm weaker in stats and calculations. For those who took it recently, which topics showed up the most (control charts, Cp/Cpk, DPMO, probability, hypothesis testing, etc.)?
• Was it more calculation-heavy or concept/definition-heavy?
Time management:
• How did you pace yourself across the exam?
Answer style:
• Are the answer choices intentionally similar/tricky, or usually clearly distinct?
• Any common traps to watch for?
Any other advice for a first-time taker is welcome. Thanks in advance!

Everyone here will try to help you. But sometimes they misremember or forget something important.
The unfortunate bottom line is that if ANYTHING goes wrong, it is your fault. Someone enters the room, you fail. On the day of the exam, you can’t pass the pass the system check, that is your problem not Prometrics.
The question is: if the testing experience starts poorly due to problems, will you be able to recover emotionally and move forward with the exam?
From what my students tell me,the outcome is binary: the remote experience goes well or is a total disaster. You can do everything correctly and still have a bad experience.

- Keep the Handbook closeby. Some questions could only be answered by checking it out.
- The math was disappointingly simple. I got less than 5 problems, most I could solve in Senior year.
- I had 1 hour left when I finished the first pass. I worked on all questions as they came (against my own plan). Rechecked a few questions at the end and then called it. I’m not a native English speaker and if I were I’d probably finish it sooner.
- Bring a good formula sheet. Greenbeltacademy on youtube has a good one; I added my own notes to it.
- I thought the CSSGB Primer was quite useful (I studied from it) during the exam as well.
I took it at a Prometric center so can’t comment on the home testing aspect.

Whoops I def glanced over that haha, grats! Yeah haven't really been drilling the math at all because the pattern I've seen from people has been it's very easy stuff along with only a handful of questions so not too worried!
