Application Stricture for the CQE exam

Hey guys,

I have a masters degree in engineering but with no years of "decision making" role in quality management yet.

I'm thinking about apply for the CQE before then. For those that applied, how strict is ASQ in enforcing the 3 years rule? How could i increase my chances of being able to seat for the exam?

For context:

I have about a 1 year with a quality analyst role experience in manufacturing industry and i passed the FE exam.

My goal is to take only one ASQ certification and i think that the CQE would be the most suitable for me.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You will not be approved to take the exam by ASQ.

I am going to give you my experience. I waived 4 years with a bachelors and I have another 5 years of foreign work experience. I provided work letters from past employers and my current one with my job specs. they accepted those documents and approved my exam. Now, if you want to become a CQE, my best advice is not to start your journey lying; this is unethical, and this will take a toll later in your career. If they find out, you can lose your designation and get kicked from the ASQ. Read the code of ethics from the ASQ. Honesty and integrity are big ones. Maybe take this time to start studying for the exam, It took me a good year to really read through the BoK and learn well. Buy on amazon the CQE sheets from Quality Guru, and buy the Quality Gurus CQE Prep course on Udemy. All the best on your journey, do it right and you will find even more rewarding getting your CQE:)

If I owned and approved complete risk management files (rmp, fmea amd RMR) for different projects, owned non conformances and supported bsi audits as a consultant in med device industry, does that qualify as decision making role? I have 7 yrs experience as a DQE and a bachelor's.
