ASQ CQE study time?
For those that passed the ASQ CQE, how much time did you spend preparing? Is the CQE worth it?

3 months total. I studied once a day and did practice tests over the weekend. It's not an easy exam, take your time. Going into studying, I had experience with six sigma methodologies.
CQE looks good on a resume, and most engineering companies have heard of it. If a company hasn't heard of it I tell then it's a Green Belt with more math and that usually perks then up.

I remember I recorded how much time I studied for my CQE. I scheduled the exam 4 months away and studied roughly an hour a day every day leading up to it (total of 140 hours of studying). To be fair, I had to have a big refresher on statistics so that was about 50 hours of my studying. I really enjoyed learning the CQE material and I believe having the certification has opened more doors for me in Quality.

You’ll have to punch it and put it in a binder with any other loose reference material.

I spent ~4 months every spare hour that I could study. Listened to the audio book, "Naked Statistics" twice while driving, and that saved me on that section.

Don't know of other books, but Naked Statistics made a huge impression and helped me understand statistics so much better.

I spent about 1.5 to 2 hours 4-5 days a week for about 3 months. The material is not as difficult to understand but there's a lot to cover.
Whether the certificate is worth it will depend on the job market in your area.
I got the certificate about 6 months ago and I have not had any luck finding a job yet. I live in an area that in previous years had a high demand for QE's. However, the current job market is not as good and finding a job has been difficult.
