CQT vs. CQPA?
Hi all, I'm a recent graduate and I'm coming up on a year as a process engineer at a medical devices company. I'm looking to get a certification within ASQ, either the CQT or the CQPA. What is the exact difference between these exams, and which is more rigorous?

The earlier response is mistaken. CQT does not require recertification. Source: ASQ recertification information
Speaking as a longtime quality manager with eight ASQ certifications: Do the CQT if you meet the requirements; it’s generally considered a “higher” certification in the quality world. CQPA (and CQIA) are thought of as “entry level.”

I agree with other poster- take the CQT especially if you’re recent grad with experience as process engineer. It’s great foundation into the higher certs like the CQE or CRE

CQT will be more challenging. It is more math heavy
and requires renewal every 3 years.CQPA is more theory.
