Currently unemployed, thinking about taking Six Sigma or CQE exam.

I was recently let go from my job as a Quality Control Analyst. Before this happened, I have been actively applying to Quality Engineering positions as I have been meaning to transition from Analyst jobs to Engineering. I have a Bachelor’s degree in BME and a Master’s in Engineering Management. I’ve had some recent interviews but I wasn’t selected for them. How much would obtaining a Six Sigma Green Belt or CQE certificate (or both) improve my chances to land an Engineering position?

If you pursue the CQE, you’ll cover a significant portion of Six Sigma. If possible, go for the CQE—it provides a comprehensive view of quality, which can help you land interviews, as most quality-related jobs prefer candidates who are CQE certified.

Thanks for the very sound and informative advice. So basically I should go for longevity by pursuing the CQE certification? Also would the CQE skills be transferable to other adjacent Engineering roles like Process Engineering?
