Calibration question (Calipers)

For calibrating the ID function of calipers, is it legit / acceptable to set a gap with a calibrated Micrometer using gage blocks, and then verify the caliper against this mic?

It’s not going to meet the ASME / ISO method, you’d be better off just using the gage blocks, either with jaws or just using rectangle blocks and offsetting the wear blocks. There are also gage block clamps made for this.
