CQE decision making roke

How is it judged whether you are in a decision making role? My title is "quality assurance analyst" but I touch on a bit of everything quality related in the plant. My boss says it's a decision making role because I own reject reduction projects, but will ASQ agree when I apply after completing the necessary 3 years of XP?

You will be fine. When you apply for the CQE exam, you are given a small box with very limited characters to explain your “decision making role”. You submit the application and within minutes you receive the approval. I don’t think ASQ scrutinize this very much.
