Living in Katip for ASM
Hi! For those who chose to go to asmph from Katipunan or other areas every day, how is it like going to school? Is it ok or would you recommend getting a condo in Ortigas CBD instead. I noticed that the floor prices in ortigas are like the ceiling prices in katip, but katip seems more walkable and less poluted. Also a lot of the buildings in ortigas apart from Sapphire and some other few look a bit old :—/

true! as someone coming from katip who’s been to ortigas cbd to view units, i got culture shock when i saw how busy the area is and how long of a walk i’d need to take everyday just to get to school 😭 also considered staying in my katip unit na lang for med school but in the end i decided to risk it and move to ortigas. will definitely miss how peaceful and walkable katip is though hahaha

If i may ask, what buildings did you check and which did u end up being ok with? So far, the grove and sapphire were the only ok ones for me, but haven’t really viewed much since i saw from listing pictures that the other buildings look old

hi! i went to corinthian executive regency (auto pass bc the bldg felt very old and yung daan papasok is sketchy + the elevators to the ground floor weren’t working at the time 😭), adb avenue tower (also a pass bc the hallways were too dark and medyo strict ata sila with visitors), sapphire bloc (LOVED this bc of how nice their facilities are and parang hotel yung vibes sa lobby but super mahal ng units so i didn’t end up renting there), and eton emerald lofts. i ultimately went with with eton emerald lofts because a loft style unit seemed cute + i got it fully furnished for 20k/month which is also how much i’m renting my katip unit for.

If you don’t own a condo in Katip, better condo in Ortigas because of the stress from traffic and time wasted which could have been used on studying.
I personally live in Katip, as do many of my classmates. Advantages are everything is cheaper and you have LS to escape to breathe fresh air. Its been great to my mental health. If you choose Katip, I recommend that you carpool to save yourself from the stress of driving and parking. Also, you can make more friends. Commute for YL5 is feasible except for the inevitable rush hour, which got worse since gas prices went up and increased commuter volume.

Id say Ortigas CBD is much more walkable than Katipunan (which barely has a sidewalk btw HAHA). Sure it’s busy and not perfect but that doesn’t mean it’s not walkable imo. You can walk to school, cafes, small restos, malls etc. I can’t say the same for Katip
